Main Event Day 2 ends with Hwang Sang Yeon up top; bubble approaches with 34 remaining

APT Finale Taiwan 2019 wrapped up Day 2 of the Main Event at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association with 34 players surviving the freezeout stage. Hong Kong’s Hwang Sang Yeon bagged up 566,000 for the chip lead. 

Right at his heels was China’s Zhou Yueyang with 563,000 less than one big blind difference. 

Also making the list with the leaders were several notable pros, Michael Soyza (259,000), En Ching Wu (126,500), Lau King Lun Alan ( 442,500), and Alex Lindop (205,500). Only one APT decorated Main Event champion survived, Carlos Chang with 149,000. We have the full list below by table and by rank.

Day 2 opened with one hour late registration available. This dragged in another 24 entries to bring the overall total to 319. With each entry at NT$ 33,000, the prize pool climbed to a wealthy NT$ 9,282,900 (~US$ 304,000). Only 32 stand to profit which means coming Day 3, two players will walk away empty-handed.
