PASAY CITY, Philippines – The original guaranteed prize pool of PhP15M (US$262,206) has been obliterated as presently 180 entries has made Day 1C of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines Main Event bustling, and with still four more rounds to be played, the current number is expected to increase as action picks up at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.
The prize pool has now gone up to PhP18,527,000 (US$323,859) with still four more rounds to be played today. The last staging here in September had the Main Event tally 497 entries, so with the number presently nearing the 400 mark, it would not be such a farfetched conclusion that that attendance mark would be threatened.
35 runners advanced from Day 1A while Day 1B had 53 going through for a total of 88 waiting to continue on in the competition.
Meanwhile, (Event #13) the Single-Day No Limit Hold’Em (NLH) has its registration closed with 91 entries logged and the prize pool settling at PhP1,324,050 (US$23,145). The eventual champion will be taking home PhP348,200 (US$6,087).
