TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – Traditionally, Day 1C brings the most number of aspirants that usually includes those that got busted from the two previous sessions, the ones who finally mustered enough courage to take the plunge, those that needed to amass cashes in side events or finally convince friends and stakers to complete the required buy-in and the big guns who now come into the picture to with guns ablaze. Regardless of reasons, today (1st October) is forecasted to bring in the biggest Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan 2022 Main Event attendance yet here at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club).
The initial entries have now reached 278 to now bump the guaranteed prize pool to well over NT$4M (US$125,717.00) with 34 runners already advanced to Day 2 tomorrow (2nd October). Many believe that it is not such a farfetched notion that today’s numbers could threaten that of the existing Main Event record here of 523 attained in the 2019 staging.
The competition is still awaiting the arrival of reigning champion Kuo Hui Chen, better known internationally as WSOP Ring winner Kitty Kuo who is said to be in town and perhaps choosing a last minute entry to defend her crown. A number of international campaigners have also cleared Health and Safety protocols and could be making their grand entrance today, plus the local force that have impressed with their aggressive brand of play.
Cards fly at 1:00PM (UCT+8).
Three side events also take flight today with trophies to be awarded before the day comes to an end with (Event #8) the single-day NLH, (Event #9) the third of the NT$27k (US$850.00) single-day High-Rollers and (Event #10) the popular Deep Stack Turbo.
