Another bustling day at APT Vietnam Phu Quoc with Main Event Day 1B as the prime entree. Registration was open all day, and after 9 hours of scheduled play, the tally was 93 entrants (71 unique, 22 re-entries). When combined with Day 1A’s slightly larger 110 entries, the event has now amassed 203 total entrants which means the VN₫ 3 Billion guarantee has been reached. That figure will continue to grow with Day 1C still to come.
Today’s action concluded with 38 players advancing. They join the 42 Day 1A survivors awaiting the next round which takes place on Friday, April 15. The heat’s top spot went to Vietnam’s Pham Dat who bagged up 141,000, equivalent to 175 BB. This puts him second rank overall, just below Day 1A chip leader Joseph Talamayan.
Among the players making the cut were several notables namely, 2019 APT Japan Tokyo Main Event champion Kannapong Thanarattrakul, 2014 APT Finale Main Event champion Huy Pham, Thailand pro Phachara Wongwichit, and two time series winner Vamerdino Magsakay.
