Tables lit up at Main Event Day 1A of the inaugural APT Vietnam Phu Quoc 2022, and after nine hours of play, 42 bagged up led by Philippines player Joseph Talamayan with 163,300 in chips. To emphasize the enormity of that stack, when Talamayan returns for Day 2, he will be starting off with 204 BB. This fantastic start is reminiscent of the 2018 APT Philippines Main Event and 2019 APT Ho Chi Minh City Championships when Talamayan ruled Day 1A of both events.
In addition to the leader, nearly all of the survivors racked up decent stacks. In fact, when action resumes, the top 11 players are looking at a minimum of 100 BB. Other players that bagged up six digits were France’s Jules Blondel (135,000), and locals Pham Hoang Quan (115,400) and Nguyen Nam Duong (105,600). Down the rung are series champions Nguyen Tan Phat (Mystery Bounty), Pham Bao (Deep Stack Turbo), and Sebastien Clot (No Limit Hold’em).
