Norbert Koh built himself a nice hefty stack throughout Day 2 but in one of the closing hands, he lost a large chunk of it to Alex Lee. It was all in preflop, Koh with 8♥ 8♣, Lee with A♣ K♣ the board ran 6♣ A♠ 7♦ 4♦ 7♥ for a higher pair spiked and a double up.
If there was one hand that had everyone stumped at the table it was the one between Phan Dinh Nam and Nguyen Van Dung. The hand kicked off with a raise to 11.5k by Phan on utg and Nguyen called. On the flop 9♠ 8♦ 5♠, Phan c-bet 11.5k and once again Nguyen flat-called. On the 2♦ turn, another lead out bet by Phan of 22.5k, Nguyen raised to 65k, Phan three-bet 140k, and Nguyen four-bet shoved. This sent Phan tanking for some time until the clock was called. He called.

On a raised pot preflop, the board felted 9-9-Q and Josh McCully quickly jammed all in with 10-10. Big stacked Choong Kian Weng called with A-J. The turn saw a jack drop in to award Choong the higher pair which held to the finish to send McCully out of the Main Event.
On a flop 9♥ 8♠ Q♦, a short stacked player shoved the rest of his stack in front of him and Hai Chuot tossed in the call. The short stack had Q♠ 10♠ top pair, Chuot with K♦ J♦ gutshot draw. The turn 9♦ added more outs for Chuot, and on the river landed one of them with the 10♣ awarding him the straight.
Choong Kian Weng (R)
Choong Kian Weng has been sporting a big stack all day and it just got much much bigger. Catching the action on a complete board 2♣ 10♥ 4♦ 9♦ 5♣, Choong faced a huge all in by his opponent. He tanked for a bit then called. His opponent held J♣ 8♣ bluff and while Choong had 10♠ 10♦ set. He now has around 590K.
Devesh Thapar
With players dropping like dominoes, one player capitalizing was Devesh Thapar. Thapar railed Bastien Blumenrother pre-bubble round then claimed another just moments ago to rise over 500K. Thapar had A-9 that outdrew a player’s 7-7 with the ace showing up on the board.
