One of the day’s entering chip leaders, Choong Kian Weng continues to beef up his stack. He just sent Nguyen Duc Giao Linh out of the running. Nguyen shoved with Q♥ J♥ and Weng called with A♣ K♣. The board bricked to send all the chips to Weng.
Tran Duc Phuong claimed his second victim of the day. It was a battle of the blinds situation with Tran holding Q♣ Q♠ and Zhang Xin with J♦ J♥. No surprised arrived on the board.
A huge smack down took place at Table 1 with Nguyen Thanh Nha delivering the axe to two players simultaneously. The action kicked off with a 15k raise by Thanh Nha, a shove by Anh Nguyen, Ang Kai Boon joined in, and action back to Thanh Nha who made it a three-way party with his big stack.
Anh Nguyen A♣ K♦
Ang Kai Boon 10♦ 10♥
Thanh Nha Q♣ Q♠
When the flop came 7♥ A♦ 7♦, Anh jumped ahead and stayed up on the 3♦ turn, but with the river felting Q♥, it was a full house for Thanh Nha and he shipped it in climbing to 690K.
The game had already begun and Phong Lam was one of the few still missing in action. When he finally arrived, he found himself in a hand against Minh Le that quickly sent him out of the field. We happened to catch it only at the end. The hole cards were already tabled, Long with K♣ K♥, Le with K♠ 4♠ the board 3♠ K♦ 8♠ 2♣ and the dealer felted the river Q♠ for a flush to Le that heard a gasp from the others.
First hand of the day saw Nguyen Hoanh Trang bank a double up. He shoved with A♣ 7♠ and was up against Ang Kai Boon with 8♥ 8♠. The board ran A♥ 4♣ A♠ K♣ 3♥ for trips and the win.
The next shoves were not so successful. Ang Boon Seng had A♦ J♦ and Nguyen Thanh Nha had 8♠ 8♥. The board dragged out Q♠ 2♠ 10♠ 6♥ 10♥ and Seng was out.
At a separate table, Suen Kam San was all in with K♠ 8♠ and Son Putin with A♣ 4♣, the board ran 9♥ 4♠ 5♣ 9♣ 5♠ sending Suen to the rail. Two hands after, another player fell at the same table. Tran Duc Phuong had 6♥ 6♦ that held against Pham Bao’s A♦ J♥.
