Devesh Thapar and Johannes Felix Hoeld went head-to-head for a pot that ended with Thapar doubling up while saying, “such a sweat with top set!” And it sure seemed that way.
The hand kicked off with a raise by Thapar from late position, Hoeld three-bet to 61k from the button, Thapar four-bet to 134k, then Hoeld slowed it down with a call. At the flop K♥ A♥ 5♦, Thapar bet 85k, Hoeld shoved, and Thapar with the snap-call.
Thapar K♦ K♣ set
Hoeld 9♥ 5♥ pair + draw
Unsurprisingly, the table was shocked to see Hoeld’s hand. The turn 9♠ and 3♠ river completed the board and Thapar’s set earned him a big double up.
Immediately after that hand, Thapar raised to 24k, Nguyen Trung Hieu three-bet to 67k, and Thapar called. On the flop 5♥ 5♣ 4♥, Hieu led for 50k and it was called. On the 2♦ turn, no bets were fired. On the Q♠ river, Hieu checked, Thapar bet 125k, and won it with Hieu folding.
Thapar now over 1M in chips.
On a raised pot preflop, the flop landed A♣ 6♣ K♦. Hijack player Nguyen Thanh Nha bet 30k, Oeystein Nordii called from the cutoff. On the 8♣ turn, Nguyen switched up and checked while Nordii took the reins and bet 60k. Intending to toss in the call, Nguyen put too many chips in and was forced to make a min-raise to 120k. Nordii announced an all in sending Nguyen tanking. He eventually folded.
Choong Kian Weng and Wong Choon Sung entered a preflop raise war with Wong initiating the action from the cutoff seat. Choong three-bet to 80k, Wong four-bet to 200k, and Choong opted to flat-call. At the flop 10♥ 9♥ 8♥, Choong jumped out with an all in announcement and quickly scooped up the pot with Wong folding.
Heated moment at Table 3 with Alex Lee and Nguyen Van Dung deep into a hand. Action began with Lee raising to 22k from late position and Van Dung calling from the button. At the flop 9♦ 2♥ 7♣, Lee checked, Van Dung bet 77k, and Lee called. On the A♣ turn, Lee led out for 116k, Van Dung raised to 340k, and Lee folded.
Catching the action on a turn board 3♥ 8♣ 6♠ J♥ and over 80K in the pot, Devesh Thapar pushed and Nguyen Hoang Trang tank-called.
Thapar Q♥ 9♦
Nguyen K♥ 4♥
Both players were drawing and with the 5♦ river, Nguyen’s king high was good for a double up.

Lee Sang Jik has been a force to reckon with since Day 1A but his run for the title ended way short with Cong Le taking the last of his chips. Lee was all in with A♣ 9♠, Cong with Q♠ K♥, and though ahead, the board ran 8♣ 5♠ K♠ 2♠ 8♠ for a higher flush to Cong.
Teoh Ming Hong was all in with A♦ K♠ but was not happy to see his caller Lien Kang Feng with A♣ A♠. The board offered no help and Lien took the chips as Hong packed up.
