From mp, Koizumi raised to 6k, Hoeld three-bet to 18k, Koizumi called. At the flop A 2 9, Koizumi checked, Hoeld bet 14.5k, Koizumi shoved his massive stack, Hoeld folded. Koizumi claimed the pot and showed A K. He is up to 620k.

Soo Jo Kim ends Doddanavar, rises to 230k

Decorated APT Main Event champion Soo Jo Kim railed Yasheel Doddanavar with pocket sixes holding against A-K on a dry board. Kim up to 230k.


Champions drop at table 1; Dao Minh Phu and Kensuke Koizumi ship

Two decorated APT champions will not be adding a second trophy to their poker altar having busted out in succession. The first to fall was APT Vietnam defending champion Oliver Helm who started the day well but proceeded to lose pots. One of them was to Kensuke Koizumi with a higher full house. The rest of chips – around 75k – went to Dao Minh Phu. Helm limped called Dao’s jam with pocket jacks ahead of K-Q. However the board granted Dao a king on the board to overtake and boot out the champ. Dao at 298k.

Next to fall was APT Philippines Main Event champion Yohn Paredes. He was all in with K 8 but Koizumi had better A J. The board ran A 4 5 K J. Koizumi at 320k.


Hamish Crawshaw gets lucky, cracks Andersson’s aces

Hamish Crawshaw started packing up and said “it’s not looking good” when he shoved four-bet shoved with A K and Joakim Andersson called with A A. However, the board brought him some luck J 10 5 Q 8 to improve to a straight and double up to 150k. Andersson dropped to 77k.


Akshay Nasa on the rise

Recently crowned APT Main Event champion Akshay Nasa bought in today and has already chipped up into fine shape. One of his winning hands saw a 19k raised pot in the middle and the flop J 2 5. Big blind Nasa bet 6k and cutoff Yasheel Doddanavar called. On the A turn, both checked it. The river came Q, Nasa led for 5k, no call. Nasa up to 140k.


Vincent Chauve at 300k

Vincent Chauve is now at 300k after claiming a pot against Choi Eng Loong. Action opened with utg Chauve bumping it up to 4k, button Choi three-bet to 13.5k, Chauve called. At the flop 10 8 8, Chauve check-called an 11.5k c-bet by Choi. On the turn 9, both checked. The river 8, Chauve led for 25k, Choi folded. Choi down to 210k.
