Two decorated APT champions will not be adding a second trophy to their poker altar having busted out in succession. The first to fall was APT Vietnam defending champion Oliver Helm who started the day well but proceeded to lose pots. One of them was to Kensuke Koizumi with a higher full house. The rest of chips – around 75k – went to Dao Minh Phu. Helm limped called Dao’s jam with pocket jacks ahead of K-Q. However the board granted Dao a king on the board to overtake and boot out the champ. Dao at 298k.
Next to fall was APT Philippines Main Event champion Yohn Paredes. He was all in with K♠ 8♠ but Koizumi had better A♠ J♠. The board ran A♣ 4♦ 5♣ K♣ J♥. Koizumi at 320k.
