Azusa Maeda landed himself a sweet double up against Charly Wittmann in a hand that he said at the takedown made him very nervous. The hand began with Maeda raising to 900 from mid-position then got re-raised to 1800 by Wittmann on the button. Action swung back to Maeda who fought back with a four-bet to 4700 and Wittmann slowed down by just calling. At the flop of 6♣ 3♦ 4♦, heavy betting action resumed again with Maeda banging out 4400 to start, then after tanking, Wittman raised to 9700, and Maeda moved all-in. He took a little time to decide on his next move but eventually Wittmann called the 16,300 additional bet and it was a showdown.
Maeda: A♠ A♦
Wittmann: K♦ Q♦
With the turn of 8♠ and river of 4♥, Maeda’s aces stayed on top and earned him the huge double up.
