All in preflop, Seok Jin K J hoped to eliminate Ngoc Anh Cao A J, but the board favored the better hand as it ran A 5 A 5 9 for a crushing full house. Cao doubled up to 145k, Jin dipped to 116k.


Lim Shyh Chyn picks up a splash of chips

From utg Dang Hoang Viet min-raised and found four callers to join at the flop 8 Q 4. Action was checked to button player Lim Shyh Chyn who bet 11k, only Viet called. On the turn J, both players checked. The river 4, Viet bet 20k, Chyn raised to 48k, Viet tank-folded to leave himself 100k. Chyn increased to 193k.


Dao Minh Phu boots another

Dao Minh Phu continues to clean out players with another booted out of the running. Heated action saw Akshay Nasa fold and say he had pocket fours, Ha Hoang all in with A J, and Phu putting him at risk with a dominating A K. When the board spread K 8 6 8 6, Phu shipped it and that was it for Hoang.


Big stacks busting players – Dao Minh Phu and Daniel Nguyen

The top two big stacks continue to tear up the felt. The overwhelming chip leader Dao Minh Phu eliminated a player with Ace-King winning the race against pocket Eights. Phu now has over 650k. At a separate table, Nguyen Gia Trung aka Daniel Nguyen called Jayeraj Nimana’s four-bet jam. Nimana had A J, Nguyen 6 6, the board landed 6 K A 2 J for a victorious set. Nguyen climbed to 340k.

The remaining 108 players will see blinds go up to 1000 – 2000 – 2000 BB Ante.  In a league of his own, Dao Minh Phu continues to blow away the counts with a massive stack of 600K. To emphasize the size of this pile, the closest players down the rung have stacks below 300k.

Back to back three way showdowns; Luong Van Quang ships

Action packed table 10 saw two three way showdowns run back to back. The first one saw Peter Kiem raise to 3400, Le Xian Long jammed his short 14.7 stack, Chong Jun Hao joined for his remaining 12.9k, and Kiem called.

When the board ran 7 5 5 9 J, Long celebrated his triple up to 45k, and Hao won the side pot.

Following that hand was another three way jam. Hao all in with his very short stack, Kiem in as well for everything, and covering them both was Luong Van Quang.

When the board ran out 9 Q 2 10 2, it was a beauty straight flush for Quang to ship it all and boot two players. Quang is up to 65k.


Ankit Wadhawan rails Pham Duy Hung

Coin flip at table 11 with Pham Duy Hung at risk with Q Q against Ankit Wadhawan’s A K. The board favored the drawing hand running 3 10 3 A A for a crushing full house. Pham busted and Wadhawan climbed to 120k.


Nguyen Van Sang muscling Dang Duy Thanh

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 1600

With 13k already in the middle and a turn board 9 10 Q 6, button player Dang Duy Thanh slid out 6k, mid-position Nguyen Van Sang check-raised to 21k, Dang tanked then called. On the river 3, Nguyen quickly pushed his huge stack, Dang folded and is down to around 35k.


Erwan Regnault with the higher pockets

Level: 13 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 1600

One of the top ten players in the APT Player of the Series leaderboard, Erwan Regnault, picked up a good pot to bring his stack to around 65k. On a raised pot preflop, the cards landed 3 2 4. From hijack, Regnault bet 7k, cutoff folded, and utg+2 Wu Jun Hao check called. On the turn 8 both players checked to see the river come A. No bet landed again. Hao turned over 9 9 but it wasn’t enough to beat Regnault’s J J.
