Chang climbs to 90k

Jae Chul Chang is now up to around 90k after doubling up big in this hand. Action began with a raise to 2650 by the sb player and Chang called. At the flop of J 7 9, the sb player bet 8k and Chang drove the pot higher by raising to 30k. This put the sb player all in if he called. He did and it was a showdown. The sb player had pocket kings but Chang pocket sevens for a set. The turn of 8 kept Chang in the lead and with the river of J, he sealed the win with a full house.


A full house sends Takayama packing

Another casualty of the day was Mike Takayama who moved all in with pocket eights and was called by a Kevin Nettles who had ace-jack. The board would give Nettles a full house and send Takayama packing.


Kim’s rockets boot one off the field

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

The field is quickly dwindling with another player eliminated. A short stack moved all in preflop and Soo Jo Kim called. At the showdown, it was pocket eights versus Kim’s pocket aces. The board bricked and Kim was shipped the pot.


Jeon eliminates Hui

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

With two limpers before him, Yao Hui went all in with 9875 chips and was called by big blind player Seung Soo Jeon. The limpers folded and it was heads up between them. Jeon had 7 7 and Hui had A Q. The board ran 7 8 Q 9 10 giving Jeon a set and Hui was eliminated from the field.


Tech collects a pot with a winning flush

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

John Tech is beefing up his stack. He won a hand that began with a limp by the utg player, a raise by Dhaval Mudgal, then a call by Tech, Marc Rivera, and the utg limper. At the flop of Q 3 4, everyone checked. At the turn of 2, Tech took a stab and bet 3100. He was called by the utg player while the others folded. On the river of K, Tech continued and bet 8k. Again he was called and had to reveal his hole cards. Tech had 8 9 for a winning flush.


Ichinose lands a lucky double up

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

Kosei Ichinose got very lucky and avoided elimination in a hand against Chen Teck Keong. With the flop of 6 4 4 and a raised pot nearing 6k, Ichinose bet 2300, was raised to 6900 by Keong, then Ichinose went over the top and moved all in with a total of 19k. Keong called and it was heads up. Ichinose had A Q and See had K K. Though behind, the dealer felted an A on the turn giving Ichinose the lead. With the river of 7, Ichinose doubled up.


Labadan wins a good pot against Maeda

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

Renato Labadan battled for a pot against Azusa Maeda which we caught on a board of 6 J Q 8. The pot was already at 9k at this point. Maeda led out with a 5k bet and Labadan matched it for a call. On the river of 6, Maeda checked to Labadan who decided to pump up the pot a bit more and bet 6k. Maeda called and then mucked when he saw Labadan’s 6 3 trips.


Lee’s straight boots one

Level: 7 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

Hoping to double up, a short-stacked player was all in on a board of J Q K and in a snap, Alex Lee called. At the showdown, Lee was ahead with his A 10 straight that held up to the end. Lee was shipped all the chips and another player has fallen from the field.


Hui earns a decent pot

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

From the small blind seat, Yao Hui raised to 2500 and Dennis Philips plus limper Seung Soo Jeon felt it was good enough to call. At the flop of 7 9 3, Hui continued and led with a 4k bet. Both Philips and Jeon folded.
