Linh Tran is one of the day’s re-entry players having busted out during the opening level. With this newly bought life, he moved all in with A♣ 3♣ and was called by Chris Vlahos with K♣ K♠.
As one player said to Tran, “you must be feeling the Ace”. And sure enough, the board came down A♦ 6♦ Q♠ 4♥ 4♣ for a double up to Tran. He now has nearly 50k.
Sometimes we do see some weird bets tabled and this one just happen to be one of them… or maybe we missed the previous action… we caught the action with big blind player Nguyen Trung Hieu all in and action was on Gyeong Byeong Lee who already had 15.1K in front of him. It is possible that the Nguyen’s shove was a 5-bet. Lee eventually folded.
John Beveridge didn’t have quite as good a day as in Day 1B. He entered today with a stack double the average stack yet could’t bring it up any higher. He lost several pots at his table and sadly just met his end. On a board 3♠ 4♥ 6♠ 9♠, both his cards and Nadau Tony’s cards were flipped open.
Beveridge K♣ K♠
Tony 10♠ 7♠
With the river 5♣, Beveridge wasn’t able to overtake Tony’s flush. Tony now up to 140k.
Kicking off Day 2, the top two leaders were Lee Chin Yong and SJ Kim. It looks like both players are still leading the pack having increased their stacks further. Yong is now at around 240k. We saw him win a small pot against APT Main Event champion Joven Huerto. On a board 6♦ 10♥ 3♥ K♦, Yong bet out and won it with Huerto folding up.
As for Kim, he now sits with around 190k. With already over 170k, he won a pot against Gilbert Goh. On a board K♦ 2♦ 9♦ 8♥, Kim bet 4300, Goh called. On the Q♣ river, Kim sent out 5700 and got the call again. He won it with A♦ K♠.
One of the day’s early bust outs was Yuan Wang Ping however he took advantage of late registration and signed up before this level began. He is making good work with his stack. Just before his table broke, he eliminated Anacleto Quijano with A-A over J-J. At his new table, Yuan shipped in a nice pot on a fivebet shove that pushed out the other raisers.
That’s it! Registration for the Main Event is officially closed! Stand by for the numbers….
One level down. We are now at a break. This is the last chance for players to jump in before the freezeout stage begins at level 10. We will give you all those figures as soon as they have that ready.
We’ve had numerous bust outs matched by a bunch of players entering and re-entering. So far we’ve had 22 entries here today and it is still open until the start of Level 10. Among the new registrants were players Kosei Ichinose, Czardy Rivera, Martin Gonzales, David Erquiaga, and Derick Hernandez; defending champion Mike Takayama has signed up as well. Re-entry players from today’s railbirds were Linh Tran, Dang Van Hien, and Seung Yeol Kim.
Cards are now in the air for Main Event Day 2! Good luck to all! Registration is still open so make sure to sign up and be part of this big prize pool!
