After 9 levels of Day 3 battle, the Main Event Final 8 players was established. They return to action on Tuesday, September 19 at 130pm for the last race to the title and the Php 5,046,000 top prize. We will have a recap shortly. Congratulations to the finalists!

Marc Rivera doubles up then rails Soufiane Bakas in 9th place – Php 525,700

Celebration in the air as Marc Rivera sent Soufiane Bakas out of the running to form the Final 8. Before doing so, Rivera doubled up through Bonifacio Mondalo. The chips went in on a turn board A K 6 8. Rivera had A 8 two pair, Mondalo A J top pair, the river came Q.

Three hands after, Bakas moved all in, with just over 10 BB, Rivera joined the shove. Bakas revealed his A Q, Rivera outkicked with A K, the board ran A 3 10 8 5 for a better five-card spread to Rivera. Bakas missed the official final table in 9th place and had to settle for the Php 525,700 payout.

Aron Dermer busts in 10th place – Php 438,100

The board ran 9 J 3 7 9 for a crushing full house to Fullmer and 10th place for Dermer. He earned Php 438,100 for his deep run.

From the button, Hwany Lee raised to 75k, big blind Ryota Oda defended, and the flop ran 10 8 10. Oda quickly jammed, Lee called.

The turn A and river 3 completed the board and with no improvement for Oda, he was eliminated in 11th place. He earned Php 365,100 for his efforts.


David Erquiaga grinds to over 2M

Returning from the break, David Erquiaga continued with aggression resulting in multiple pots going his way without a showdown. He took a chunk from Marc Rivera and tanked Hernan Villa. One of the most recent pots saw him jam on a board 5 8 10 10 7 and Rivera folded while giving up his stake on the 300k pot.


Sofia Lovgren Fullmer takes a big chunk from Mondalo

Sofia Lovgren Fullmer has now climbed to around 3M after a battle with Bonifacio Mondalo. The hand opened with raised by Mondalo to 65k, called by Fullmer on the big blind. At the flop 6 3 6, Mondalo c-bet 40k, Fullmer check-raised to 100k, Mondalo called. On the turn K, Fullmer led for 200k, Mondalo called. The river 5, Fullmer fired 300k, Mondalo tank-folded. Fullmer climbed to nearly 3M, Mondalo dropped to 420k.


Kim Jun Hee eliminated in 12th place – Php 365,100

Level: 24 Blinds: 15K-30K Ante: 30K

From utg, Kim Jun Hee raised to 60k, hijack Jacques Le Guennec called, and bb Jung Ho Young called. At the flop K 5 8, Kim c-bet 35k, Le Guennec called, and Young check-called. The turn 10, Young switched up and led for 125k, only Kim called to see the river 6. Young bet 100k, Kim shoved his 510k+ stack, snap-called by Young.
