Gopez busts Lindop in 9th place, Final 8 revealed as Day 3 ends

Level: 22 Blinds: 15,000/30,000 Ante: 30,000

Fresh off a double-up off of Wen Fang Po (TPE), Alex Lindop (GBR) ran into Duroy Gopez’s pocket pair as the Englishman’s A K was greeted on the shove of almost 1M in chips by the Filipino’s J J

The whole table stood as the board played out: 8 7 6 4 –which had everyone realizing that there was a chop possibility–but the River was 4 as the the remaining players and their supporters celebrated.

Lindop finishes at 9th place for PhP444,500.00.

The Final 8 will resume tomorrow (September 18th) at 1:00PM (UCT+8).

The chip counts and seating arrangement will be revealed in the next update.

Lindop doubles-up through Wen

Level: 22 Blinds: 15,000/30,000 Ante: 30,000

After almost an hour into the Final Table of nine players, action finally happened when Alex Lindop (GBR) shoved into a raised pot preflop and got called by Wen Fang Po (TPE).

Lindop showed 8 8 while Wen had two over cards in A J .

The window card initially showed a Jack but when the full Flop came, it was: J 10 8 giving Lindop a set. Needing to spike running cards to complete a comeback, the Turn was 4 and the River was 7.

Lindop now takes a big chunk of Wen’s stack and the player from Chinese Taipei is now officially the short-stack.

Kim, Thompson booted out in succession; sends Championship to Final 9

Level: 21 Blinds: 10,000/25,000 Ante: 25,000

Kim Bo Eum (KOR), the last lady standing in the event, did a 3-bet shove that was called by compatriot Chang Jae Lee.

Chang showed he dominated Kim by tabling A K while Kim had A Q .

However, the Flop gave Kim the lead with Q 10 6 , to this she loudly exclaimed, “Wow!”

The Turn card was the 4 and just when she was about to celebrate, the J arrived on the River, giving Chang Broadway and eliminating Kim in 11th place for PhP308,700.00.

Right after  that, the next hand at the opposite table had Gary Thompson (IRL) shoving preflop, due to him being crippled a few hands previous.

He was called on the BB by erstwhile chip-leader Kim Jun Hee (KOR).

Thompson showed 2 2 while Kim had A 5.

The Flop immediately rewarded Kim’s audacity by showing an Ace on the window card: A 5 6 .

Thompson wasn’t able to get the required running cards nor spike a deuce in the next two streets to have him finishing in 10th place for PhP370,400.00.

The Final Table is currently on a redraw and a break before heading into Level 22 where the Blinds will be 15,000/30,000 (30,000).

Dave Spade hugs a Buddha, takes the chip-lead in crippling Thompson

Level: 21 Blinds: 10,000/25,000 Ante: 25,000

Dave “Spade” Erquiaga (PHI) raised from early position and was called from late by Gary Thompson (IRL).

The Flop came: K K 9. Erquiaga donked then got shoved on by Thompson. After going in the tank for a few seconds, Equiaga called.

Thompson showed J 10 for a gut shot straight draw while Erquiaga reveled his A A

The next two streets bricked out for Thompson giving Erquiaga’s haul enough to take the overall chip-lead.

After the hand was over, Erquiaga looked for a walking Buddha and hugged it for even better luck.

Teoh gets chips back but from Chang

Level: 21 Blinds: 10,000/25,000 Ante: 25,000

William Teoh (MAS) gets a double-up immediately in the next hand following his loss against Kunal Patni (IND) when Chang Jae Lee shoved from the D but waiting in the BB was Teoh showing A Q while Chang was dominated with A 10

The board did not produce a miracle for Chang and Teoh becomes relevant again with a chip-stack nearing 1M.

Teoh remained in prayer until the end of the hand.

Patni doubles-up in wild hand vs. Teoh

Level: 21 Blinds: 10,000/25,000 Ante: 25,000

Kunal Patni (IND) limped UTG then got raised by William Teoh (MAS) at the D. Patni tanked and called.

Flop came: K 10 8

Patni checked, Teoh opened. Patni raised. Teoh shoved. Patni tanked and called.

Teoh tabled K J while much to the surprise of everyone at the table, Patni showed 8 6 .

The miracle card arrived on the Turn for Patni when he hit the 6 and to make it sweeter, Patni even spiked the 6 on the River for a Boat and a much needed double-up. Teoh stack falls to average.
