Akio Kawano went head to head against chip leader Marc Rivera and got the better of him to double up. Rivera had 6 6, Kawano with Q Q, the board ran dry. Kawano up to 200k.


Aces cracked! Xiaobo Zhou loses to Fumimasa’s straight

Catching the action only at the shipping, the board was J 5 4 9 Q. Xiabo Zhou showed his A A but Hirawasa Fumimasa had better K 10 straight to claim the pot. Fumimasa up to 270k, Zhou at 275k.


Ivan Tabucal falls! Marc Rivera skyrockets to 700k

Ivan Tabucal eliminated! In two losing hands at this opening round, Tabucal was bounced out of the Main Event. Tabucal entered the day as second chip leader with over 100 bbs to play with and proceeded to lose a sizable chunk to sb Edgar Kim.

Tabucal raised to 14k, Kim three-bet to 42k, Tabucal called. The flop landed Q 2 A. Kim bet 35k, Tabucal raised to 70k, Kim called. On the 4 turn and K river, both checked. Kim showed A 9 top pair, Tabucal mucked. Kim rose to 460k.

Dropping to 260k, Tabucal met his end on this hand. Utg chip leader Marc Rivera raised to 10k, utg+1 Tabucal three-bet to 36k, Rivera four-bet to 86k, Tabucal all in, Rivera with the snap-call.

Ngueyn’s kings don’t hold, Maki Ikeda rises to 280k

Several more players have fallen, among them was Nguyen Hoang Bach with Maki Ikeda delivering the axe. Bach was all in preflop with K K, Ikeda A Q, the board was generous to Ikeda as it ran Q 9 A 9 2. Ikeda shipped it and climbed to 280k.


First hand: Taichi Ichikawa doubles through Ysmael, Perez falls

Instant shove action on the first hand. Fu Bang Huang booted BJ Perez to become the first casualty of the day. On the table over, Taichi Ichikawa had a better turnout. After a preflop raise war with Ysmael, he was all in. His pocket kings held against Ysmael’s queens. Ichikawa up to 260k, Ysmael down to 100k.
