Day 3 is over! Final 8 players emerge!

With the fall of Lin Wen Hong in 9th palce, the final 8 players emerged! They will be returning for the final race to the title on Sunday, May 5 at 130pm. The event will stream live on APT Twitch and APT Youtube. Here are the contenders:

Lin Wen Hong takes 9th place – P551,600

Level: 26 Blinds: 30K-60K Ante: 60K

Lin Wen Hong will not be joining to the final day having just fallen to Gyeong Byeong Lee in 9th place. Hong was all in with Q Q, Lee called him with A K, the board ran out 6 A 9 J 4 for a higher pair to Lee.

Joshua Chargualaf eliminated in 10th place – P459,700

Level: 25 Blinds: 25K-50K Ante: 50K

After losing a large portion of his stack to Iori Yogo, Guam’s Joshua Chargualaf lost the rest of it to Byungwook Ahn. The hand began with Siyoung Lee raising to 130k, Chargualaf shoved, Byungwook Ahn called, Lee folded.

The board ran dry for Chargualaf to send him out in 10th place. Ahn goes up to 2.5M. We are down to the final 9 players. One more bust to end Day 3.


Joshua Chargualaf takes a hit; Yogo up to 4.9M

Level: 25 Blinds: 25K-50K Ante: 50K

Joshua Chargualaf is nearing the danger zone having lost a big chunk of his stack to chip leader Iori Yogo. The hand saw Chargualaf raise to 135k, Yogo three-bet to 350k, called. On the flop 10 8 J, both checked. On the K turn, Chargualaf checked, Yogo fired 450k, called by Chargualaf. The river 7, Yogo banged pout 750k, and once again Chargualaf called. Yogo showed A Q straight, Chargualaf mucked. Chargualaf down to 750k, Yogo at 4.9M.


Joshua Chargualaf vs Kong Seung Su

Level: 25 Blinds: 25K-50K Ante: 50K

Josh Chargualaf raised to 130k, sb Kong Seung Su and bb Gyeong Byeong Lee called. When the board ran K 6 9 3 K no bets landed. Kong showed A J but Chargualaf had better A K trips to claim the pot. Chargualaf now at 2.1M.


Iori Yogo rises to 3.25M

Iori Yogo opened to 125k, Byungwook Ayn called. The flop came 3 4 Q. Both players checked. On the turn 10, Yogo slid out 200k, Ahn called. The river 3, Yogo fired 350k, Ahn called. Yogo showed A Q, Ahn mucked, Yogo scooped up the huge pot to rise to 3.25M. Ahn down to 1.95M.

Soo Jo Kim has been eliminated in 11th place. Delivering the axe was Gyeong Byeong Lee. Both players are decorated APT Main Event champions hunting their second major tour title.

For a good part of the final two tables, Kim’s stack seesawed. With 11 remaining, he proceeded to lose two pots to send him out of the running. First hand, Kim raised to 85k, Lee called from the big blind. At the flop 9 Q K, Lee checked, Kim c-bet 95k, Lee raised to 500k, Kim folded. Kim down to 350k.

Next hand, Kim was all in, Lee called. Kim A 2, Lee 4 4, the board bricked. Lee shipped it and climbed to 2M.

Chen Yazhou eliminated in 12th place – P383,100

Level: 24 Blinds: 20K-40K Ante: 40K

Byungwook Ahn has just sent Chen Yazhou out of the running in 12th place. Ahn opened for 90k, Siyoung Lee called, Yazhou jammed, Ahn shoved behind, Lee folded.
