Michael Kim Falcon delivered the next casualty of the day. On a board J Q 9 9, Falcon bet 65k, his opponent shoved, and called. Falcon had K 10 straight ahead of A Q two pair, the river 3 ensured the win. Falcon now up to 270k.


Peng Mendoza avoids the rail

Peng Mendoza three-bet all in with his short stack holding 10-10 and faced off against the defending champion Lester Edoc with Q-Q. A lucky ten landed on the turn to double him up to below 200k. Edoc drops to 340k which is still well above average stack.


A couple of ups and downs…

Day 3 is in full swing and it has been action-packed from the get-go. Menchu Razavi was all in with Q Q but ran into Georges Chehade‘s K K. No lady arrived and she had to pay a costly double up that brought her chips down to 15. She was all in on the next hand sitting on the big blind. Her K 10 did much better on the board with K 8 5 6 3 to double up through William Ysmael with 10 10. She is up to 30k.

At a separate table, Makato No Guchi busted at the hands of Konstantin Pogodin. He was the first dropout of Day 3. He was followed by Le Ngoc Khanh whose J-J ran into Wang Jia Jun’s Q-Q.

MAIN EVENT Day 3 action has kicked off with blinds at 2000 – 4000 ante 4000. Average stack is 177,302 with 7,624,000 total chips in play. Everyone is in the money with eight players already paid last night. The agenda for today is to capture one of the Final 8 seats and be one step closer to the coveted championship title.

Leading today’s race is Rehg Delos Reyes with 451,500 followed by defending champion Metro Team Pro Lester Edoc with 438,000. These two have a substantial lead against the rest of the pack.

If you haven’t seen the payout structure, the prize pool amounted to a massive PHP14,841,000 with a total of 306 entries at PHP55,000 each. 51 players in-the-money. First place is due to earn the lion’s share PHP2,849,600.
