When the flop felted 6♠ 7♦ 9♥, it was an instant straight to Pogodin. The turn 5♦ and river J♠ sealed the win to avoid the rail and double up.
Yesterday we had a story on JC Sayo tripling up with his short stack. Today, we just witnessed another triple up but before he did, he doubled up David Chargualaf Sr. who landed a runner-runner flush to defeat Sayo’s pair.
With 31.5k remaining, action began with Eric Tsai raising to 16k, Chua Shan Hui called, Sayo shoved it, and both players called. The board ran out 6♠ K♠ 8♠ 9♠ A♣ with no bets fired for a side pot. Sayo won with Q♥ Q♠ flush. He is back up to 100k.

William Ysmael eliminated Joonwon Lee with 7-7 landing a set on the board. Lee took 38th. This was a great comeback for Ysmael who dropped to 47k on the second hand of the day when he doubled up Menchu Razavi. He went on to win a hand with J-10 top pair on the ten. This elimination pushed his stack up to 155k.
Peng Mendoza was ousted by Czar Ian Marcos in 36th place. Mendoza had Q-Q that lost to Marcos’s 5-5 turning a set on fourth street.
Out next was Moses Saquing falling to Marc Rivera. Saquing had A♣ K♣, Rivera with 2♦ 2♥. Though not needed, the flop spit out a duck to end Saquing’s run in 36th place.
