Catching the action only on the river, the completed board was 3 4 3 A 10. Michel Philippe Ghanem checked to Junko Hirai who bet 8500 onto a pot of around 6k. After tanking for some time, Ghanem decided to call and instantly won the pot with Hirai mucking.


Liow first casualty

Marcuss Liow was seen leaving the room. He is the first casualty of the day. On a flop of 6-7-9, Hiroshi Iwashita pushed all his chips into an already beefed up pot preflop. Liow called. Iwashita had K-K and Liow with 6-3. The turn and river were no help to Liow and he was eliminated.


Heavy action leads to a split, Bonanno vs Araniel

On a board of 8 K 2, Noel Araniel checked to Jim Bonanno who slid out a 1200 bet. Araniel called and the turn cam 9. Araniel checked again, Bonanno bet out 3950, and Araniel smooth-called. On the river of J, Araniel checked one last time, and Bonanno decided to do the same. Both players had K-Q off suit for a split pot.


Ha bullies Liow with a big shove

With a hefty raised pot already brewed in the middle, the flop came 6 2 6. Tran Hai Ha checked to Marcuss Liow who had no plans of keeping the action light. Liow bet 4500. Responding to the bet, Ha went over the top shoved with over 40k in chips. This was enough to push out Liow.


Bet it to win it

Ken Okada and Van Sang Nguyen stared down a board of A K 10 and both decided to check their option. On the turn of 2, Okada checked again, Nguyen bet 5k, and Okada folded.


Degracia recovers some lost chips

Immediately after losing a big pot, Toniyoung Degracia was back at it working the table to recover some chips. On a raise by Kazuo Morizono to 600, Degracia three-bet to 3600 and Morizono called.

The flop came K 3 6, Degracia checked, Morizono bet 3500, Degracia called. On the turn of Q, Degracia took the lead and bet 6500, and won the pot with Morizono folding.


Nakagiri takes a chunk off Degracia

Toniyoung Degracia could not fold her hand and found herself getting chunked down by Junichi Nakagiri. The hand started with a min  raise by Nakagiri to 400. He was called by Ian Marcos but when action reached Degracia, she raised to 1100. Both Nakagiri and Marcos called.

The flop ran 3 5 5, Degracia led out for 2500. Nakagiri called and Marcos checked out. On the turn of 6, Degracia continued to pump the pot with a 4500 bet, Nakagiri called. On the river of 4, Degracia banged out another 5k, but this time Nakagiri raised to 15.5k. Degracia flat-called.

Strong early bets by Helfert

On a flop of 10 Q 8, Jan Andrew Helfert and Jang Hanwool went head-to-head with Helfert leading out for 600 in chips. Hanwool called and the turn dropped 3. Helfert continued to pump the pot betting out 900, and again Hanwool called. On the river of Q, Helfert jammed out 1200, and Hanwool was right there with a call. Helfert showed J 10 and Wool mucked.


Yogo picks up an early pot

The past two three days haven’t been very fruitful for leading APT Player of the Year 2016 player Iori Yogo but here at the Main Event, he is off to a good start. He just picked up an early pot.

Aso Seitaro raised to 550 and two players called. On the flop of 10 A 2, everyone checked. On the turn of 7, action was checked to Seitaro who bet 850. Iori Yogo raised it to 3k, and with that, he won the pot with no callers.
