HomeHa Duong of Vietnam and his aggressiveness in two of his last three hands has allowed him to chip up a little bit.
In the first hand, Duong shoved his remaining stack of 7,575 on a board of 7♣ 8♥ 7♦ 2♦– and forced two players to fold their hands.
In the third hand, the Vietnamese re-raised Yo Doi’s bet of 500 pre-flop to 2,100. Again, forcing the fold from his opponent. Duong climbs to around 16,000– just below the starting stack.
In a battle between Hong Kong and Singapore, it was Raiden Kan who came out on top versus Norbert Koh in this particular hand.
Flop was A♦ 3♥ 3♣ with a healthy pot in the middle and Kan check-called Koh’s bet of 3,500 to bring the turn 9♦. This time, Kan check-raised Koh’s bet of 4,150 to 9,150.
The additional orange chip was enough to force the fold from Koh. Kan climbed to around 30,000 in chips.
Jan-Eric Schwippert just shipped in a nice stack of chips when he ousted a player with his 7♦ 8♦ against A♣ J♥ on a board of A♦ 8♣ 8♥ 3♣ 9♦.
Dhanesh Chainani’s continuation bets awarded him a decent sized pot when his opponent folded on the river. During the hand, Chainani raised to 300 from the hj seat and was called by the cutoff player. At the flop of 7♣ 8♥ 6♣, Chainani led out for 500 and was flat-called. At the turn of Q♥, Chainani continued and sent out 900 which was once again flat-called. Then on the river of 2♦ Chainani slid out 1175 and his opponent quickly folded.
The board showed 7♣ 9♦ 2♠ 10♥ A♦ with a healthy pot brewing in the middle. Elecito Coniendo put 1,1550 more on the river and got a call from an opponent beside him. Coniendo tabled 8♣ J♣ for a turned straight and the opponent mucked his hand.
With the board showing 3♣ 4♠ 10♦ 9♦, button player Carlos Lai called the sb player’s half pot bet of 2350 to see a river card land 8♦. Both players opted to check and Lai won the pot with his 2♦ 4♦ small pair that surprised his opponent who had two face cards.
After losing a small pot in previous hands, Feng Zhao has recovered an even bigger one.
An opponent raised to 300 to open the action pre-flop and got a call from Zhao from late position. The dealer flopped 8♣ 7♠ 9♣ and the original raiser checked-called Zhao’s bet of 450 and did the same on Zhao’s bet of 1,150 on the turn 3♣.
The opponent checked the river 5♦ once again and this time Zhao meant business: a huge 4,800 bet that scared off his opponent.
