Pinto ends Seng’s day

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Lester Pinto and Lau Heng Seng engaged in a preflop battle that led to both players getting all their chips in the middle. Pinto held a dominating A K against Seng’s A Q. With the flop landing 2 8 8, Seng was looking at a possible nut flush but it was not to be when the turn of 10 and river of 4 were spread on the felt. Pinto shipped in all the chips and Seng shipped out of the Main Event.

Jeremias’ Boat Bigger Than Mariakis’

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Pre-flop action started off innocently with some limpers including Michael Mariakis and Whoody Jeremias in the hand.

Flop: K K 4

Mariakis wanted a bigger pot though so he added 1,300 to the middle which was flat-called by Jeremias.

Turn: 6

This time Mariakis fired a bigger 2,400. Jeremias asked his opponent if he his pocket eights was good before making the call.

River: 5

Markiakis fired the biggest bullet with 6,000 and Jeremias made the call.

Mariakis: 6 6 for the full house
Jeremias: K 5 for the bigger full house.

“Thanks for saving me some money,” Mariakis tells Jeremias, who could have shoved his entire stack but didn’t.

Mariakis falls to around 34,000 while Jeremias climbs to roughly 29,000 in chips.

Kitamura rails one

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Takuya Kitamura railed a player in a hand with five limpers initially trying to get in the action. However, when a shove of 5075 was made by a short stacked player only Kitamura made the call and it was a showdown.

Short stack: 8 8

Kitamura: J K

With the board running 3 5 9 5 K, Kitamura was shipped the chips with his higher pair and just like that, another player bowed out of the day.

Loong wins preflop raise war

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

With towers of chips already in his arsenal, Chong Eng Loong claimed another pot and without a showdown. During the hand, action folded to the cutoff seat who raised it up to 400. The button player added more action by re-raising it to 875. Then from the sb position, Loong further escalated it to make it 3600 to go. Sensing danger, the cutoff folded while the db player tanked. After a couple of minutes the db player five-bet but before we could get a count, Loong shoved and his opponent instantly mucked.

Hieu Le Cripples Japanese

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Hieu Le already has a big win earlier this week by copping the crown in the RWM Poker Fiesta 2M GTD tournament and PHP 499,500 first place prize last Thursday.

Looks like he wants more.

On a board of 10 5 9 Le faced a 4,500 bet from a Japanese opponent. The Vietnamese responded by moving all-in his final 13,500 or so. The Japanese tanked for a bit but made the call.

Le showed 9 10 for two pairs and was ahead of the Japanese’s cowboys. Turn and river blanked and Le grabbed the nice pot and climbed to over 30,000 in chips.

Yu Kurita with a well-earned pot

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Yu Kurita seized a pot away from Benjie Lim in a hand that began with a player raising to 400 and finding 3 callers until it reached Kurita on the button who re-raised it to 1200. Acting next was sb player Benjie Lim who four-bet to 5000, and one by one the four players folded around the table and back to Kurita who called. At the flop of 4 7 A, both players checked. At the turn of 7, same checking action. Then on the river, Lim checked to Kurita who went all in. Lim folded and Kurita revealed her Pocket Queens.

Rubianes Staying Alive

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Three players– Johnny Tan, Vincent Rubianes and Azusa Maeda– were in the hand of a raised pot with a flop of Q J K

Maeda bet 1,100 only to see Tan make it 2,200 while Rubianes wanted even more by moving all-in his final 7,500. Maeda and Tan got out of the way and Rubianes stays alive in Day 1B with around 15,000.

Huy Pham surrenders a nice pile to Gonzales

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Unfortunately we were only able to catch the river action between Huy Pham and Martin Gonzales. With a full board of 10 A 6 9 Q and a hefty pot of around 18K, Gonzales raised Pham’s bet of 4000 to make it 9500 to play. Pham tanked for a bit but soon folded giving Gonzales the nice pile of chips in the middle.
