Vincent Torres moved all in after Feng Zhao’s 14000 raise and was given the call for a showdown. Torres had A♦ K♥ and Zhao had J♠ 8♠. The board ran blank for Zhao and with his high card, Torres won and scooped a double up to almost 150K.
After a preflop raise battle Brian Sombero was all in against bigger stacked Jia Jie Liang and at the showdown he may have had the best hand against Liang with A♦ K♣ versus Liang’s A♣ Q♥ but wit the board running 10♣ Q♠ 4♦ J♣ 8♠, Liang landed a straight and Sombero bowed out in 26th place taking home $5500.
Jin Young Choi got all her 39000 chips in the middle after Annie Bordallo’s raise to 17000. Choi was happy to see her A♠ K♠ ahead of Bordallo’s K♣ 10♥. The board ran 3♠ 2♦ 5♠ A♣ 2♥ and with that she earned a much needed double up.
Ziyang Zhao fresh off his bustout of bubbe boy Greg Lane is using his huge stack to bully the opposition. Three straight hands he bet the standard and got no callers to chip up some more.
Just a couple of hands after the bubble burst, Henrick Tollefsen followed suit and got eliminated holding pocket sevens.
Very short-stacked, he was all-in preflop against Chinese Jia Jie Lang who had 9♠ 10♠.
Flop 3♠ 4♣ 5♣ was safe for Henrick but not the turn 9♣ and that’s all he wrote for the Norwegian, who got the minimum payout of $5,500 for his 27th place finish.
And the bubble has burst wit Gregory Lane taking the fall. During the hand Lane raised to 12000 preflop and was called by Zi Yang Zhao. At the flop of 6♣ 2♠ 9♣, Lane led out for 11000 and Zhao called. At the turn of 10♠, Lane bet 25000 and Zhao shoved his tower of chips that easily covered Lane. Lane didn’t flinch and announced call. At the showdown, Lane was ahead with 10♥ 9♠ two pairs and Zhao with J♣ 2♣ for a pair and a flush draw. The river of J♥ was one of the outs Zhao needed and with that, Lane was eliminated and everyone is now in the money.
SJ Kim opened for 16,000– which seems like the standard raise across the tables. The Korean found a caller in compatriot Hyeong Wook Choi seating next to him.
Both players checked the flop: 10♦ A♣ 2♣ as well as the turn 6♣
On the river J♦, Kim fired 10,000 for the value bet.
No value here when found out that Choi’s pocket jacks hit his set on the river. Kim had pocket deuce.
From UTG+1, Mike Fawaz of Lebanon opened for 16,000 and saw Feng Zhao of Singapore call from the big blind.
Both checked the flop K♠ 9♦ J♦ and turn 2♣ and Zhao bet 25,000 on the river 7♠.
Fawaz gets away from his hand to give Zhao the pot.
We are still at the bubble stage with Roger Hardy going all in after a raise by Mikal Blomlie. Blomlie called and at the showdown, Hardy had 9♣ 9♦ ahead of Blomlie’s A♠ 8♥. Hardy won the pot and doubled up to over 70K when the board ran blanks for Blomlie.
