Drilon vs. Rankin

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

UTG George Rankin bet 700 preflop and found a caller in Jose Drilon from late position. Both players checked the flop 7 6 8 and Drilon bet 1,500 on the turn 6. Rankin made the call.

When the river 10 arrived it was Rankin who led out for 2,000… Enough to put Drilon in a world of pain before making the fold.

Tollefsen Gets a Few

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Henrik Tollefsen was holding jack-eights and decided that it was a good enough to call a 700-bet from an opponent.

When the flop 9 10 J arrived, he was feeling good about the speculative  call after hitting top pair and now drawing to an open-ended straight. Both players checked the turn 5 and river 3 and the showdown was off.

Opponent tabled Q 9 and Tollefsen was ahead to net the small pot.

Serion’s Serious Shove

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

On a flop of 6 8 Q with a raised pot, Mike Takayama bet 2,750 only to see Ray Serion push his final 18,600 to the middle. Takayama, with roughly 10,000 in chips, would be putting his tournament life at risk if he made the call.

Takayama tanked a little bit and decided to not play his hand. Serion has over 23,000 in chips after the hand.

Joven Huerto grabs a nice chunk from Chong

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Catching the action only at the river, Chong banged out 3600 to an 8000+ pot on a board showing 7 Q 3 K 8. Joven Huerto tanked for a bit but soon made the call and won with his PTens against Chong’s A-10.

Martin Gonzales doubles up

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

A preflop raise war led Martin Gonzales to a decision of sending all his chips in the middle. After a bit of tanking, his opponent eventually made the call and their cards were revealed. Gonzales was behind with Q 9 against A K but with the board running 2 5 9 3 6, Gonzales’s all in gamble earned him top pair and a double up to around 17K chips.

Big double up for Peter Kleudgen

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Catching the hand only at the shipping, Peter Kleudgen with PKings doubled up against Mike Fawaz who held A-Q on a Queen high board. Kleudgen is now up to around 45K chips.

Ray Serion’s makes a good call

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Ray Serion claimed a pot against the aggressive betting of Renan Morales. During the hand, Serion raised to 700 from mid position and was called by both blinds, sb Morales and bb Mike Takayama. At the flop of 8 5 2, Morales led out for 1200, Takayama folded, and Serion quick-called. When the turn landed 10, both players decided to put the brakes on and checked. But at the river of 8, Morales sent out 4700 and Serion announced a call. Morales showed his 3 4 bluff that was no good against Serion’s 6 6.

Takayama Takes Another One

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

On a board of 2 3 4 3 7, Mike Takayama bet the minimum 400 goading compatriot Renan Morales to make the call. The latter wouldn’t do it but Takayama was nice enough to show that he had three-four for what was a full-house.

Takayama climbs to around 10,000 after this hand.

Takayama’s Shove Puts Pressure on Former StarCraft Pro

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Mike Takayama of the Philippines bet 600 preflop and was met by Korean Lim Yo Hwan, who is also known as “BoXer” during his heydays as a StarCraft pro.

The Filipino continued with a 1,000 bet on the flop 4 J 7 but the Korean just wouldn’t go away and made the call.

Turn 6 arrived and this time Takayama just checked. Hwan fired 1,500 only to see Takayama go over the top shoving his final 8,500.

The Korean tanked and tanked… but eventually folded his hand.
