Chainani vs Lam

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

With a 7700 pot before them and a full board showing J 9 10 8 5, Aaron Lam bet 9000 big ones and Dhanesh Chainani snap-called. Chainani showed Q J for a straight but Lam took it down with his higher straight of K Q.

Higher straight win for Zhang Jian

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

In a three way all in at the flop of 10 J 9, Zhang Jian held K Q, another player had J 4, and a third player who had the other two covered showed 7 8. Leading with his higher straight, Jian scooped the pot when the turn landed 5 and river of Q. Jian also railed one in the process.

Campomanes Rises

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Last time we noticed Florencio Campomanes he was way below the starting stack.

Not anymore, after a few wins and after this hand:

The dealer already tabled 4 8 6 and Campomanes faced an 800 bet from an opponent. He made the call.

The opponent bet 1,600 on the turn 7 and again, Campomanes met him in the middle. Both players checked the river 2 and Camponanes tabled K 5 for the straight. The opponent mucked his hand and Campomanes has now around 48,000 in chips.

Mynn Kim with alot of heart

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Seeing the hand just before the shipping, Mynn Kim’s Q J landed a sweet double up against Victor Chong with a board showing K 2 3 10 8.

Feng Zhang survives Tech’s big slick

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Action began with Jae Kyung Sim aka Simba raising it up to 700 only to be answered by Feng Zhang with a reraise to 2300. Then quietly at the other end of the table, Jojo Tech gave it another bump up, this time to 6700. Simba took a little time to decide but then folded giving Zhang his turn which he used to go all in. Tech snap-called Zhang and it was a showdown:

Tech: A K

Zhang: 10 10

Board: 7 6 J 6 5

Zhang avoided the big cards and happily doubled up.

Sombero Outplays Tech

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

5 players limped into the pot and there was no sign that it was going to be a huge pot.

Jojo Tech initiated the action with a 800 bet postflop A A 2 and saw all players fold except for Brian Sombero.

Tech bet another 900 on the turn 8 but Sombero added 1,200 more. Tech made the call.

On the river 4 it was the turn of Sombero to put a big bet: 5,600 more on a 1,100 bet by Tech, who tanked for a bit before folding to give Sombero the big pot.

“Full on the river,” said Sombero to Tech.

Tech dropped to around 27,500 after the hand while Sombero climbed to over 31,000.

Level: 5 Blinds: 100-200 Ante: 25

Co’s Kojak

Level: 6 Blinds: 150-300 Ante: 25

Erwin Co is one of the late entries for Day 1B and according to the Filipino, it’s part of his style and strategy to “not indulge into too many pots very early.”

After this hand, it appears that plan is paying off.

On a board of 8 4 9 J 3 we saw him facing a big 5,400 bet from an opponent across the table.

He thought for a bit but 10 seconds later decided to make the call.

It was the right decision as he was shown the opponent’s 10 K, behind his J K for top pair.

Co climbs to around 29,000 with just a few hands played so far.
