Hockin Can’t Handle Tayag Heat

A very, very big pot was already brewing on a board of 10 2 Q A when Paul Hockin of New Zealand bet 3,000 which was called by Richard Tayag of the Philippines.

When the river 7 arrived the Kiwi bet another 11,000 only to see the Filipino go over the top for his final 23,000 or so.

Hockin took his sweet time before making a decision. Conversing with Tayag all the while:

“You have king-jack spade? King-nine spade?”, speculated the APT Asian Series Cebu Main Event champion.

After a good 5 minutes, Hockin folded hand threw his hand to the middle– exposing an ace.

“Show?” Hocking begged.

Tayag showed one: K

“NO! Not just one! Not the king of spades!”

Tayag climbed to over 60,000 after the hand while Hocking dropped to around 30,000.
