Linh Duong is the next casualty of the day when he moved all in on top of Annie Bordallo’s raise. Bordallo called and it was a showdown with Bordallo holding the nuts of A♠ A♥ against Duong’s Q♠ Q♦. The board offered no help to Duong and he leaves in 18th place with $6600 more in his pocket.
Ziyang Zhao is at it again against Jia Jie Liang.
Zhao opened to 16,000 preflop and found a caller in Liang to bring the flop 7♥ 3♣ K♥.
Both players checked the turn 10♠ but on the river K♦, Zhao fired another 31,000.
Liang has the bigger stack at this point but in recent hands between the two, Zhao has taken the upperhand. Zhao has over 300,000 now but Liang still has over 500,000.
Vincent Torres is making a big comeback with another increase in his chips. During the hand he was all in preflop against Feng Zhao and got the better end of the deal when his A♥ 10♥ against Zhao’s 5♥ 5♣ landed a higher pair on the board of 9♥ 6♦ Q♠ A♦ 3♦.
Jojo Tech from the Philippines got in all of his remaining 50,000 to the middle and saw Norwegian Mikal Blomlie make the call. The guy from the big blind, Ziyang Zhao considered his options for a bit but folded from the big blind.
Tech: 8♣ 8♦
Blomlie: A♣ J♠
The window card A♠ wasn’t what Tech was looking for as the flop K♠ 3♦ arrived. No eights on the turn 9♠ and river 4♠ and we have zero Filipinos left in the APT Philippines 2014 Main Event.
Shortly after Feng Zhao won a huge double up from Fawaz, Inaki Santos shaved a chunk of it for himself. In the hand, Santos raised preflop and was called by both blinds with Zhao on the big blind. At the flop of Q♣ J♦ 8♣, action was checked to Santos who bet 20000 and was raised all in by Zhao. Santos called and it was a showdown. Santos had K♠ K♦ and Zhao had 10♣ 4♣. The turn of 10♦ and river of 2♦ was not what Zhao needed and Santos doubled up to almost 250K.
Big hand for Feng Zhao who started off the hand raising to 17000 and getting a caller in Mike Fawaz and Bryan Huang. At the flop of 5♥ A♠ J♠ Zhao bet 24000 and found one customer in Fawaz. At the turn of Q♠, Zhao bet 32000 and Fawaz responded with an all in. Zhao quickly called and showed his 10♠ 9♠ for a flush against Fawaz’s A♣ Q♥ top two pair. Needing a boat to eliminate Zhao, it was not to be as the 8♥ landed and Zhao doubled up huge to almost 300K.
Holger Saupe got all his chips in at the utg seat and was followed quickly by shorter stacked Vincent Torres when joining the party was Inaki Santos from the big blind. Here’s how it turned out:
Saupe: K♣ J♦
Torres: K♥ K♦
Santos: A♠ J♠
The board ran X? 5♦ J♦ 3♦ Q♣
Torres tripled up but Saupe was eliminated in 20th by Santos. He wins $5500.
Huy Pham just doubled up off Vincent Torres.
Working with a short stack, Pham shoved his ace-eight and was up against Vincent Torres’ pocket queens.
J♣ 2♣ 5♦ was good for Torres, 4♦ put Pham on the brink but the ace on the river avoided another bust out.
Inaki Santos (Spain) has been picking his spots all day long and finally found a hand he liked.
He shoved all in worth 48,000 with A♥ J♠ preflop and got a call from Bryan Huang (Singapore) who had 9♣ 9♠
The flop J♥ 10♣ 6♥ immediately turned the tide for the Spaniard and held on after the turn/river. Santos has now over 100,000 to work with in the main event. One of the shorter stacks but definitely more playable now.
