With a preflop raise that left three players in the hand, cutoff player Jojo Tech bet at the flop of J♠ 4♥ 8♦ and was check-called by both his opponents. At the turn of K♣, action was checked to Tech again who sent out 1275. This time the bb folded but the mid position player check-raised to 2600. After assessing, Tech called the raise and both went to see the river card of J♦. The mp checked, Tech slid out a 6600 bet, and with that, he took the pot as the mp folded.
Some mad preflop action in a table which features Andrew Gaw, Linh Tran and SJ Kim among others.
First, Tran opened to 600 but saw another player re-pop it to 1,400. Gaw called but Kim three-bet to 3,600. Apparently, this is what Tran wanted as he shoved his remaining stack worth around 11,500.
The original re-raiser got out of the way and so did Gaw. Kim put a single chip however signifying a call.
Tran: K♣ K♦
Kim: Q♠ Q♥
Tran was way ahead and it would remain that way after a board of A♣ 3♠ 5♣ 5♥ 9♣. Tran climbs to over 26,000. Kim drops to a similar number with around 28,000 in chips.
In a blinds battle, sb player called bb Romit Advani’s raise preflop and both saw the board land 7♣ 8♣ 8♠. Instantly sb player shoved which did not scare Advani who took on the challenge. When their hole cards were revealed, sb had K♣ 6♣ for a flush draw and Advani had A♦ Q♠ that was still ahead. On the turn of A♣, sb got his flush and Advani also improved but now behind with just two pairs. Then an 8♦ slapped on the river giving Advani the full house and the win as his opponent left the table.
With four limpers before him, Euryd Rivera raised it up to 1000 from the big blind and without hesitation, the four limpers called. At the flop of 3♦ J♣ 9♣, everyone checked. At the turn of 6♣, action was checked to Ender Ozkan who bet 2300. The bet was good enough to take down the pot as everyone folded.
Good friends off the felt, Czardy Rivera and Flo Campomanes probably knows each of the other’s games already. In one hand however, it was Rivera who came out on top as Campomanes stack is dwindling down to danger levels. Rivera hit two pairs holding Q♦ 10♣ climbing to around 23,000. Campomanes drops to roughly 6,800.
We are currently at 102 entries for Day 1B so we’ve eclipsed Day 1A’s 90 runners. Entry and re-entry is allowed until at the end of Level 6 so the prize pool for this main event will still climb.
After a limp by the utg, Richard Marquez raised to 450 from mid position and got called by three players including the utg. At the flop of 8♦ 4♣ 2♥ action was checked to Marquez who bet 1100, getting two players to fold, but not the utg who check-raised it up to 3600. After tanking, Marquez flatted and both went to the turn of 10♠. Both checked, and as well on the river of 4♥. Marquez won the hand with his A♣ A♥ and commented he was worried his opponent had a set due to the check-raise at the flop.
With four players in the pot of around 2,000 the flop arrived 9♣ 8♣ A♠ prompting a 1,000 bet from a player from under the gun. One player checked and another re-popped it to 3,000. Do Hoang Anh studied his opponent and flatted and the two other players decided to join in as well.
Turn: 5♦
UTG player checked this time and so did the other player. The re-raiser shoved his stack worth well over 10,000 and Anh made the snap call as the other two players got out of the way.
Anh’s opponent: 8♦ 8♥
Anh: 9♦ 9♠
No two-outer miracle in this one as the river 2♠ was tabled and Anh climbs to over 38,500 after the set-versus-set hand.
