Straight up for Moneghan

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

In a hand against button player Terry G, utg player Adam Moneghan bet 450 on a board of 8 A A Q only to get raised to 1200 by G. Moneghan debated then soon made the call to see the river land K. Both players checked and Moneghan won the pot with his J 10 straight.


Fawaz eliminates first player of the day

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

First player of the day was eliminated by Mike Fawaz five minutes before the end of the first level. With Tawaz and a player all in at the turn of 9 K 10 3, Fawaz showed K K for a set against the other player’s drawing dead hand of 8 8. The river of 7 was of no consequence.


Prakesh doubles up

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

On a raised pot preflop, utg player Austin Prakesh checked to the cutoff seat who bet out 1225 on a board of 2 10 3. Prakesh called and both went to see the turn card of J. Prakesh checked again and cutoff bet 3625. Like previous, Prakesh called. At the river of 9, Prakesh once again checked, cutoff announced all in sending Prakesh to the tank. Prakesh eventually made the call for all his chips and won the pot with his Q 10 mid pair against the cutoff’s A 5.


Duong takes charge

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

Taking charge of the hand, Linh Duong raised to 175 from utg+1 and was called by two players. At the flop of Q 4 K, Duong led for 1100 and was instantly called by his opponents. At the turn of 7, action was the same with Duong sending out 1100. Then at the river of 10, Duong batted out 1600, got one player to fold but another to call. Duong won the pot with his Q Q set.


Sweet early pot for Terry G

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

Catching the action at the turn, Terry G laid out 3000 chips on a board of 9 5 5 4 and was called by two players bringing the pot from an already sizable 7350 to an even heftier one for the taking. With the river of 10 the players decided to hold back by checking and G took it down with his Q Q.


Colclough’s early grind

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

Action at the felt is slow moving at the moment with players sizing up each other. APT Asian Series Cebu 2014 Main Event Champion Paul Hockin was seen dabbling on a hand against David Colclough with Colclough taking a small pot of 375 on a board of 5 5 6. Colclough later took a few more chips from another at the table when both went to see a board land 3 7 8 and a raised pot of 1800 already in the middle. Colclough led out for 775 and his opponent quickly folded.


Marquez’s Straight

Level: 1 Blinds: 25/50 Ante: 0

On a flop of 2 4 5, Richard Marquez opened to 400 and saw Lester Edoc call from across the table. Both players checked the turn A and river 10 for a Filipino showdown.

Marquez tabled 3 4 and Edoc mucked his hand.

The APT Philippines 2014 Main Event kicked off Saturday, May 3 at the Resorts World Manila. We’ve already seen some APT regulars and some new faces in the field so far. The big board states that we have 55 players who coughed up the $2,700 buy-in so far but we’re pretty sure that number is going to climb in the next few hours.

The Main Event of the APT Philippines 2014 at the Resorts World Manila began 1:00 p.m this afternoon.
