Sai Ho Philip Chiu on the move

After knocking out Toshimitsu Kamie, Sai Ho Phliip Chiu has been the action man at the final five. Just before the break, he won two more pots. The first one was a battle of the blinds against Evgeny Kurilenko. Chiu limped in, Kurilenko checked. On the flop 5 6 3, Chiu check-called Kurilenko’s 40k bet. On the 10 turn, he check-called a 100k bet, then on the 9 river, he led out for 105k and claimed it with the Russian folding up.

Next winning hand he raised to 80k from the cutoff and big blind Hung Sheng Lin defended. At the flop 4 3 J, no bets. On the Q, Lin bet 100k, Chiu called. On the 3 river, it was check-check again. LIn had K 10 but Chiu had better with J 10 two pair.


Toshimitsu Kamei leaves in 6th place – HKD 115,100

The last fighting Japanese player, Toshimitsu Kamei, could not bring it home for his country as he was just eliminated in 6th place by Sai Ho Philip Chiu. His final hand saw a raise by Chiu on the button, Kamei shoved on the big blind, and instant call by Chiu.

The board ran J 7 10 for a set to Kamei that stayed ahead on the 4 turn, but the river K sent him crashing with Chiu completing a straight.. Kamei earned HKD 115,100 for his deep finish.

Hele Liu vs Evgeny Kurilenko

Level: 27 Blinds: 20000-40000 Ante: 5000

Hele Liu raised to 80k from the button and big blind Evgeny Kurilenko defended. At the flop 3 7 Q, no bets by either. On the 4 turn, Kurilenko test bet 100k, and LIu called. On the 8 river, Kurilenko slid out 225k, and Liu matched it up. Kurilenko quickly mucked. Liu won it without a showdown.


Hung Sheng Lin tanks Philip Chiu

Level: 27 Blinds: 20000-40000 Ante: 5000

Tense moment at the felt with Sai Ho Philip Chiu and Hung Sheng Lin battling for a pot. It started with a raise by button Lin to 90k, called by Chiu on the big blind. At the flop 7 4 10, Chiu check-called an 80k bet by Lin. On the A turn, same action with Chiu calling a 190k bet. On the 10 river, Chiu checked, Lin fired out 600k sending Chiu tanking for some time that the rail had filled up a bit. Chiu eventually folded.


Big stacks battle: Hele Liu vs Evgeny Kurilenko

Level: 27 Blinds: 20000-40000 Ante: 5000

For the first time today, the big stacks got involved in a pot that grew to quite a hefty pile. Action kicked off with Hung Sheng Lin raising to 95k from the cutoff, button Hele Liu called, then Evgeny Kurilenko three-bet to 335k from the big blind. Action back to Lin, he folded but Liu called.

On the flop 8 4 5,Kurilenko continued with a 300k bet, and Liu called. On the Q turn and 10 river, no bets were fired and it was showtime. Kurilenko turned over A Q for top pair and Liu folded without showing saying he had pocket jacks.

Liu dropped to 1.7M which is still above average stack. Kurilenko up to 3.1M. Average stack is 1.5M.


Hiroshi Matsumoto exits in 7th place – HKD 93,700

Level: 27 Blinds: 20000-40000 Ante: 5000

HIroshi Matsumoto has only had two moves all day, shove or fold. He folded numerous times, shoved twice but uncalled, then on the third shove, Hung Sheng Lin took on the challenge.

Toshimitsu Kamei bags a double off Wang Jun

Level: 26 Blinds: 15000-30000 Ante: 5000

Utg Evegeny Kurilenko kicked off the action with a raise to 65k, then to his immediate left Toshimitsu Kamei shoved with 400k. To his immediate left, Wang Jun also shoved with 890k. Action went around the felt, everyone folded including Kurilenko for the showdown.

The board ran 4 8 6 A 10 and with the ace spiked, Kamei doubled up to 970k while Jun fell to 490k.


Wang Meng falls in 8th place – HKD 79,300

Level: 26 Blinds: 15000-30000 Ante: 5000

China’s Wang Meng entered the day as the shortest stack and despite doubling up he still couldn’t hold on. He suffered a big hit to his stack against Hele Liu then fell at the hands of Sai Ho Philip Chiu. Action began with Chiu raising to 65k, Meng shoving from the bb seat, and Chiu with the call.

Hele Liu banks a big one off Wang Meng

Level: 26 Blinds: 15000-30000 Ante: 5000

Hele Liu has now taken over the chip lead after banking a big pot off Wang Meng. The hand kicked off with a raise to 65k by Meng from the cutoff and Liu called from the big blind. At the flop K 2 2, action was sent to the raiser Meng who sent out 65k, and LIu called.

On the turn K, both checked and the river came 4. Liu fired out a massive 600k and was happy to get the call. He turned up K 4 full house. Liu now up to 2.2M. Meng dropped to 630k.
