Shinji Sugeta is beginning to distance himself from the rest of the big stacks. He just claimed two sizable pots to drive his stack to nearly 400k.
The first pot was against Kashima Shinji. Kashima raised to 7500, Sugeta three-bet to 23k, and Kashima called. On the flop 2♥ 10♥ 3♦, Sueta c-bet 18k and Kashima called. On the 8♦ turn and 9♥ river, no bets were fired and Sugeta won the pot with J♦ J♥.
Next pot was a battle of the blinds against Toshimasa Sakato. Everyone folded to Sakato who raised to 9k. Sugeta defended his big blind with a re-raise to 23k. Sakato called. On the flop 2♠ 8♣ 4♥, Sugeta bet 15.5k and Sakato check-called. On the Q♦ turn both checked. Then on the J♠ river, Sugeta went back to his stack and sent out 10.5k. Sakato called. Sugeta won with A♠ Q♣ pair.
