We only caught the action at the shipping but Masaki Hirayama filled us in with some of the details. Masaki raised preflop and Naoki Morita called as well as big blind Daiki Horikawa.
At the flop 2♦ 2♥ 2♠, it was checked around. On the turn 7♣, Masaki bet, Morita called, Daiki shoved, Masaki folded, and Morita called.

The river 8♣ completed the board. Daiki doubled up to around 350k, Norita dropped to 160k.
Into the new round, more players have fallen. One of them was Takashi Miyamoto. On a queen-high board, Takayshi was all in on the river against Shiga Mitsuhiro. Both players had top pair but Mitsuhiro’s K-Q kicker prevailed over Takashi’s Q-J.
Shiga Mitsuhiro
Shiga Mitsuhiro has been very active since the start of Day 3. Prior to the bubble round, he doubled up twice, one of them against bubble boy Oiver Ziegler with his 4-4 surviving against A-Q. Mitsuhiro doubled up again, this time against Satoshi Okuda.
On a flop of 3♦ 6♠ 7♥, Mitsuhiro checked, Satoshi bet, Mitsuhiro raised, shove shove showdown. Mitsuhiro 9♣ 6♥ pair and Satoshi A♦ 7♦ top pair. The turn Q♥ kept Satoshi ahead but with the 6♣ river, Mitsuhiro jumped to trips and avoided the rail.
Ichiyo Niwa
Ichiyo Niwa picked up another pile of chips. He raised to 9k from the button, Simon Cho on the bb three-bet to 24k, Niwa shoved, and Cho quickly called. Niwa sheepishly turned over K♠ 10♠ while Cho showed Q♥ Q♠. The flop ran Q♦ 10♥ 3♦ for a set to Cho, but with the turn J♣ Niwa jumped ahead with a straight. He went on to double up with 7♦ river. Niwa now at 260k.

The bubble round came and went as fast as this game seems to be going. Tsuyoshi Nitta raised to 20k, Oliver Ziegler shoved, Nitta called.

The board threw blanks Q♣ 5♠ 3♣ 6♥ 6♠ to eliminated Ziegler.
With that elimination, everyone is now in the money. 32 players remaining. One player is still missing in action, Aleksei Sei.

Tomoharu Furuya, new chip leader
It has been an all in fest here since the first shuffle sending two players out very fast. First was Anthony Mak railed by Tomoharu Furuya. Due to this, Furuya has now usurped the lead with well over 400k.

Out next was John Marshall. He was all in three times before getting the boot on the fourth shove. First was 10♥ 10♦ losing to Ichiyo Niwa‘s J♣ 4♣ flush on a board that ran K♣ 5♥ 8♥ 8♣ 9♣.

Down to 3k, Marshall tripled up on the next hand. He doubled up on the third shove with 7♠ 7♦ quads over K♠ 4♠ on a board of J♠ J♦ 7♥ 7♣ K♥. But the fourth sent him tumbling out with A♦ 2♣ ousted by Niwa’s 8♦ 8♥.
The bubble round was reached with short stacked Gurn Lee knocked out by Manami Hayamizu.

Cards are in the air for Day 3 of the Main Event! There are 36 players remaining out of the 192 total entries. The money flows starting at 32nd place so four of today’s hopefuls will be booted out empty-handed.
One player not needing to worry too much about that is Shinji Sugeta with his enormous 377,000 stack. That’s nearly 3x the average stack of 133,000. Due to a double qualifier, total chips in play is 4,788,000.
