Day 3 ends with the Final 8 formed

With the fall of Hoshi Yuya in 9th place, we now have our Final 8 players of the Championships Event! Congratulations to all the players!

Hoshi Yuya exits in 9th place – ₩5,621,000

Hoshi Yuya won’t be joining on the Final 8 day. He met his end in 9th place at the hands of none other than the steamrolling Hideki Izutsu. Yuya was all in with A J and the leader Izutsu had A K. The board ran 2 5 6 Q 4 to end Day 3 with the Final 8 formed.

Yuya earned ₩5,621,000 for his deep run.


Hideki Izutsu wins a splashy pot, retakes the chip lead

Hideki Izutsu is back on top! It took this hand to send him past Tamon Nakamura. Six players were in on a raised pot of 45k each preflop. The flop ran 2 2 7. Action folded to the button Tamon Nakamura who laid out a 120k bet that was called by Hideki Izutsu and Hoshi Yuya. On the A turn and J river, no bets arrived. Yuya opened 8 8 but was behind Izutsu’s 9 9. Nakamura mucked.


Hung Sheng Lin loses some to Hideki Izutsu

Hung Sheng Lin dropped to 590k after the result of this hand. Action began with Tamon Nakamura bumping it up to 50k. Hideki Izutsu called and Hin did the same from the small blind. At the flop 9 5 4, turn Q, no bets came, but on the 6 river, Hung bet 60k, Izutsu called, Hung showed 8 8 but Izutsu had better turning over A Q. Izutsu climbed back up to over 1.5m.


Hoshi Yuya doubles up through Tae Hoon Han

From utg, Tae Hoon Han opened with a raise and everyone folded except the big blind Hoshi Yuya who moved all in. Han called.

The board ran 7 7 10 Q J for a double up to Yuya to 460k. Han dropped to 98k.


Tamon Nakamura exposes Yuya’s bluff, climbs to 2.2M

Tamon Nakamura is on a roll! He picked up another big pot to bring his stack up to 2.2M. The hand kicked off with Nakamura once again raising it up to 50k, called by Hoshi Yuya and big blind Hiroyuki Yoshimura. At the flop 7 10 9, Nakamura c-bet 120k and only Yuya called. On the 10 turn, both checked and the river felted 4. Nakamura checked, Yuya banged out 200k, and Nakamura called.

Tamon Nakamura charges to 1.8M

Tamon Nakamura has taken over the chip lead after banking big pots. The first one kicked off with Nakamura raising to 50k, called by button Hideki Izutsu and big blind Naoki Morita. At flop 4 10 4, Nakamura bet 90k, Izutsu called, and Morita check-called. On the 8 turn, Morita checked, Nakamura sent out two yellow towers worth 200k, and Morita called. On the 6 river, both players checked. Morita J 10 top pair but Nakamura had A 10 pair higher kicker.

On the subsequent hand, Nakamura raised to 50k, Jaepil You called from the cutoff, and Tae Hoon Han defended his big blind. The flop fell J 2 2, no bets landed. On the 6 turn, Han led for 60k and both Nakamura and You called. On the river A, Han sent out 320k that found one caller in Nakamura while You folded A 5. Han was immediately heard saying to Nakamura, “nice call”, as he turned over 3 6 two pair. Nakamura had much better with A 9 higher two pair. 

Nakamura storms to 1.8m. Han down to 435k.


Jaepil You earns a big one off Izutsu

From the utg seat, Hideki Izutsu raised to 45k. He was called by the player to his immediate left, Jaepil You, then down the round, Hung Sheng Lin joined in. At the flop 4 K 9, Izutsu c-bet 70k and only You called. On the 9 turn, Izutsu slowed to a check then called You’s 140k bet. On the 4 river it was checked by both. Izutsu with Q Q while You had better with 7 5 flush.


Kei Kiyohara railed in 10th place – ₩4,804,000

Kei Kiyohara was all in with 10 10 and Jaepil You had him dominated with A A. The board ran dry to send Kiyohara out in 10th place. He earned ₩4,804,000 for his deep finish.
