Congratulations to the Final 8 players!
Shigeho Yoshioka has been denied a final 8 berth with Albert Paik delivering him the boot. The hand began with Yoshioka raising to 45k, got re-raised to 150k by Paik, and back to Yoshioka who flat-called. The flop ran 4♣ 3♦ 7♦, Paik bet 200k and Yoshioka quickly called leaving himself below 200k behind. The turn 10♠ saw Paik move in a bet well covering Yoshioka’s stack. After deep self-deliberation, Yoshioka risked his tournament life sliding in the rest of it.

Kimihura Nakamura showing some muscle out there. He raised to 45k preflop, Kazuto Sato called, then Iori Yogo three-bet to 150k. Nakamura wasted no time counting his chips and simply shoved. Sato and Yogo both folded.
Jiwoon Kim is the overwhelming big stack at the table with over double the average stack nearing 2M in chips. He’s been quite active, getting involved in numerous pots. We saw him up against Andy Li Xueyan a couple of times and another against Iori Yogo. Here is how he fared.
Xueyan raised to 45k, Kazuto Sato called, Kim re-raised to 165k, Xueyan shoved, Kim folded. On the next encounter, Kim raised to 45k, Xueyan called. The flop ran 2♠ J♥ 7♥, Xueyan checked, Kim bet 35k, Xueyan called. On the 10♣ turn, both checked. On the 8♦ river, Xueyan checked, Kim fired out 100k, Xueyan folded.
In Kim’s recent hand against Yogo, he called a raise of 50k preflop and the flop ran J♥ 4♣ 5♥. Yogo checked, Kim bet 40k, and Yogo called. On the J♣ turn there were no bets but on the J♠ river, it was back on with Yogo sending out 90k. Kim folded. Yogo now well over 1M.
Iori Yogo is inching closer to the million range having just won a pot with his shove. The action saw Jinwoo Kim raise to 45k that was called by three other players before it got to Yogo on the big blind. He shoved his 770k stack and found no callers. He now has around 950k.
The fearless Jinwoo Kim sent out the first of two players needed to end the day and establish the Final 8. The victim was Naoki Morita. Just before the hand began, Kim was fixing his stack after having just won a pot. The next hand began with Morita beefing up the pot to 45k; Jinwoo Kim answered with a 150k re-raise, then back to Morita who shoved his stack nearing 500k. A quick call came from the Kim and it was a showdown.
Kim K♦ Q♠
Morita K♣ J♥
The board ran low, drawing blanks for both, to send Morita out in 10th place. He earned KRW 3,680,000 for his finish.
Kim now up to 1.94M in chips and has a dominating lead over all other players.
We are down to the final 9 players. One more to go before we Day 3 wraps up.
Hisashi Tamura will not be joining at the unofficial final table as he was just eliminated in 11th place by Jinwoo Kim. Tamura was all in with A-4 which did not improve against Kim’s K-K.
Tamura earned KRW 3,410,000 for his 11th place finish. Jinwoo Kim up to 1.3M in chips.
We saw a sick full house over full house hand earlier and this time another arrived though we only got to see the chips as it was being shipped to the winner Albert Paik. He kindly gave us the details of the hand. With action folding all the way to the button, he raised it up and sb player Andy Li Xueyan called while the big blind folded.
On the flop of 6-6-3, Xueyan check-called his c-bet. On the 7 turn, both players checked. On the 3 river, Xueyan bet 130k then called Paik’s 300k raise. Paik turned over 6-2 full house and Xueyan showed one card, a 3. Paik had the higher full house and has now amassed a stack of 1.6M. Xueyan dropped to 880k.
Scott Janik was the next player to get paid today. He gambled his stack on A♣ 3♣ only to miss the mark against Yuichi Sumida’s 9♥ 9♠. This brought his stack down to one big blind and was eliminated immediately after in 12th place. He earned KRW 3,410,000 for his finish.
