Naoki Morita takes it from Andy Li Xueyan

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Andy Li Xueyan may be the big stack at his table but Naoki Morita certainly won’t let that intimidate him. On a flop of 8 9 A, Xueyan checked to Morita who banged out a 13k bet. Xueyan called and the turn came 7. Both players opted to check for a free river card K. Xueyan bet 30.5k, Morita jammed it all in, and Xueyan quickly folded. Xueyan’s cards accidentally opened up, A-Q.

Not long after, Norita railed a player to climb event higher. He is now at 315k.

Albert Paik takes some from Nekrasov Evgenii

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

The chip front runners are taking control of their tables. In addition to Jinwoo Kim at his table, Albert Paik picked one up as well to drive his stack upwards. In a battle of the blinds, Nekrasov Evgenii limped in and Paik checked. On the flop Q 6 10, Evgenii bet 7500, Paik raised to 13k, Evgenii called. On the 3 turn, Evgenii checked, Paik bet 27k, and he was called again. On the 7 river, action was the same with Evgenii calling a 36k bet. Paik won it with his 10 6 two pair.

Jinwoo Kim wins two quick pots

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Chip leader Jinwoo Kim pumped up his stack even higher after winning two immediate pots at the start of this round. Along with Tang Jia, they called Yoichi Uesugi’s 11k raise and the flop spread 4 9 Q. Kim bet 12k and only Jia joined him to the turn of 2. Kim bet 42k into the pot and won it with Jia giving up his hand.

The next hand also went to Kim who three-bet a player’s raise and got no challenge.

Nakamura Kimiharu four-bet win

Level: 15 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Shunske Tsujii raised to 12.5k preflop, Gen Nose three-bet to 37.5k, then Nakamura Kimiharu jammed it all in for a total of 127.5k. He won the pot with no callers.

The players are currently on a 40-minute dinner break. There are 37 players remaining which is ten places to the money. Here are the approximate chip counts of the top 5 players:

Andy Li Xueyan 555k
Bi Qiang 502k

Several three-bet wins

Level: 14 Blinds: 2000-4000 Ante: 500

Not all winning hands make it to the flop; some of them are won on a preflop raise war which happens pretty much alot. In a span of a few minutes, we saw three go by. Gen Nose raised to 15k, Taehoon Haon re-raised to 37.5k, and Nose folded. The next one we caught was Genki Nakano bringing it up to 12k only to face an all in shove by Youngsoo Kim. Nakano folded. Following that, Masashi Shibata raised to 9k, Yuichi Sumida three-bet to 27.5k, Shibata jammed all of it in, and Sumida quickly folded.

Kazuto Sato boosts his stack to 350k

Level: 14 Blinds: 2000-4000 Ante: 500

Kazuto Sato has been on a steady incline all day and added more to his arsenal after eliminating Mario Galle then picking up another good pot shortly after. Against Galle, he held 10 10 and it held up against K-Q with the board drawing blanks.

A few hands after, he won some off Bi Qiang. The hand began with Sato raising to 9k which was called by Qiang. At the flop A 9 5, Sato continued with a 7k bet and still got the call from Qiang. On the 8 turn and 5 river, both slowed down with no bets laid out and Sato won it with 10 10.

Jeremy Graves eliminated by Gen Nose

Level: 14 Blinds: 2000-4000 Ante: 500

Ever since Jeremy Graves was moved to table 5, the tides seemed to have turned against his favor to eventually fall out of the main far from the money. There were a few hands that we caught plus the painful one that sent him packing.

Gen Nose was all in with his short stack holding A Q and Graves had K Q. The board ran 6 K A J 9 and Nose doubled up while Graves fell to 380k.

Several hands later, he paid up Takato Ariake’s pocket jacks with a huge pile of chips that soon led to his last hand. He was all in with A-2 and Nose – who now had more chips than Graves – was there to challenge him with 5-5. The board bricked and it was all over for Graves.
