Alan Lau back on the up and up

After a strong start, Alan King Lun Lau dropped in chips but has made up some of in this new round through Yim Tin Yai Timothy. Action preflop was raised by Timothy on the button and Lau defended his big blind.

At the flop 6 4 3 it was check-check. On the 9 turn, Lau bet 10k and Timothy called. On the river K, Lau slid out 26k, and Timothy called. Lau showed K 6 and Timothy mucked.


Yongbin Wang takes some from Philip Chiu

Level: 13 Blinds: 1500-3000 Ante: 500

Yongbin Wang min-raised to 6k and down the orbit, both blinds called, Sai Ho Philip Chiu and Kohei Nakai. When the flop ran A 2 5, action was checked to Wang and c-bet 8k. Only Nakai called and the turn felted 7. Both players checked. The river 9 saw Wang lowers his bet to 3k and Nakai check-called. Wang won with A 3 top pair.


Phachara Wongwichit at par

Phachara Wongwichit was below average stack entering the new round but after doubling up and busting a player he is now just about par. For his double up, Wongwichit was all in with K[qc} and was called by Tso Wei with 9 9. The board ran 4 Q[ac} K 8.


Big stacked Shi Zhikui

We haven’t caught much action from Shi Zhikui but he is one of the big stacks at the break. We did see him pick up a pot earlier with a three-bet from 5k bumping it up to 12.3k. We will keep a close eye on him to catch more action.

Jin Tian is the chip leader at her table and grew slightly bigger after railing short stacked Leow Seng Yee. Yee had A 5, Tian 2 2, the board K 9 5 2 10.


Yuri Ishida spikes a very lucky river card

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Yuri Ishida and Chin Wei Lim went head to head for pot that saw Ishida shove on the turn board 9 9 2 4 and Lim call. Ishida had A A overpair but was sorely behind Lim’s Q 9 trips. That all changed when luck shined her way as it delivered A on the river to improve her to a victorious full house.


Justin Chan’s draw chunks down Kazuhiko Yotsushika

Level: 12 Blinds: 1200-2400 Ante: 400

Justin Pak Kwan Chan and Kazuhiko Yotsushika stared down a board J 7 10 and a 20k pot pre-brewed. Chan bet 8800, Yotsushika shoved, and Chan called after a minute of contemplation.

The turn J kept Yotsushika ahead but with the river K, it switched up with Chan pairing up. Chand doubled up and Yotsushika down to 11k. He was railed right after.


Gabriel Carter rails Rongshan Li

Gabriel Carter is well into the 200k chip range having just eliminated Rongshan Li. Li shoved with A 9 and Carter called with K Q. The board ran well for Carter, 5 Q 4 J 8.
