Yuri Ishida came from just 10bbs today of 86,000 and is now near average stack of 490k with 11 players remaining. She is doubled up twice earlier, though we missed the second one, and now she just picked up her third to reach 460k.

Catching the action on the river betting, board was 5 5 8 Q 6, sb Ishida bet 60k, bb Chan Ying Kit moved all in with his big stack, Ishida slid in the rest of her chips. Chan had A Q two pair and Ishida had Q 6 higher two pair. Chan is down to 610k,

With action folding all the way to the small blind Gabriel Carter, he limped followed by fireworks. Big blind Victor Chong raised to 40k, Carter shoved, and Carter with the call for his tournament life.

The board bricked Q 10 Q 3 5. Carter was eliminated in 12th place and earned KD 45,900.

Victor Chong builds his wall. He now sits with 870k. Prior to this pot, he shaved off a couple of 100k towers from Philip Chiu to help him rise to 2nd in command to chip leader Sparrow Cheung.


Confusion at table 2, Chan Ying Kit wins the pot

On a complete board 10 9 8 K 7, Wang Meng bet on the big blind, Chan raised to 70k, Meng three-bet to 150k, then Chan mumbled something that Meng thought was a call and turned over his cards. This surprised Chan who told the dealer he said “wow” not call. The floor was called and it was decided that Chan had yet to act since he did not put any chips in for a call nor did he fold. Chan called while seeing Meng’s 10 4. Chan won it with 9 7 two pair.


Gabriel Carter tanks Daniel Tang

Level: 18 Blinds: 5000-10000 Ante: 1000

Cutoff player Daniel Tang raised to 25k and big blind Gabriel Carter defended his big blind. At the flop J 2 10, Carter checked, Tang c-bet 19k, Carter shoved with 112k.

Michael Soyza was on the big blind when cutoff Chan Yang Kit banged out a big 80k. Soyza looked down at his hole cards and it was a snap-call for his tournament life.

Despite being ahead, the board ran K 8 6 7 10 for a set to Chan to burn Soyza’s aces. Soyza earned HKD 45,900 for his deep finish.


Gavin Flynn denied by Sparrow, falls in 14th place – HKD 45,900

Gavin Flynn – 15th place

We missed the action that set Gavin Flynn filing out but we did catch up with him to get a few of the details. He was all in on the turn board 7-Q-3-J holding J-3 two pair but it still wasn’t good enough against Park Yu Cheung Sparrow’s 7-7 set. The river was no help to Flynn and he ended his run in 14th place. He earned HKD 45,900 for his deep finish.


Dong Guo rails Ji Qiang Shi in 15th place – HKD 39,800

Ji Qiang Shi – 15th place

Ji Qiang Shi was on his second shove and this time Dong Guo on the big blind called. Ji A 5, Guo K J, the board ran K 3 Q 7 8. Ji exited in 15th place and earned HKD 39,800 for his deep finish.

A little scare for Yuri Ishida survived

Yuri Ishida entered Day 3 as the shortest stacked. She boosted it up with a double up with her 6-6 surviving against 5-5 on a board that drew a scare 5-Q-6-3-J.


Sparrow Cheung sweeps the pot, zooms to 780K; Tian Hao out 16th – HKD 39,800

Big wild hand went down at table 1 with three players all in. Action kicked off with Daniel Tang raising to 18k, Park Yu Cheung Sparrow three-bet to 55k, Tian Hao shoved with 224k, Tang shoved his massive stack, and Cheung made it a party shoving his 271k in as well.

Cheung skyrocketed to nearly 800k, Tang dropped to 370k, and Hao was railed in 16th place. He earned HKD 39,800 for his deep finish.
