Dam bet 1,600 on the turn K♠, which the opponent called. River 9♣ arrived and Dam bet 3,000… The opponent called.
Dam shows Q♥ 10♥ and was milking his opponent all the way.
With already 10,000 in the middle, Sebastian Dametz decided it was time for a considerable bet to scare off his opponent.
The community 2♥ 5♥ 6♥ 4♣ 4♥ was already on the board and Dametz fired half of the pot– 5,000 into the middle.
His opponent snap-folded and showed he had 5♠ 6♣ for the lowly two pair… And a good decision after Dametz showed what was a flopped flush with J♥ 7♥.
Dex Luna raised to 750 preflop and found a caller in Bryan Huang.
The dealer tabled Q♠ 4♦ 4♥ and Luna continued his story with a 2,000 bet. Huang flat-called.
Turn 2♣ came and Luna is sticking with his story: a higher bet this time with 6,000.
River 8♠ arrived and Luna wasn’t changing his tune with an 8,000 bet. This time Huang wanted more and re-raise shoved!
Luna called and found out the bad news. Huang was holding pocket eights for the rivered full-house beating Luna’s lonely cowboys K♦ K♠.
Luna is out and Huang joins the early leaders.

With the flop 2♦ J♦ 4♣ already on the board, Stefansky fired 1,500 and saw a player call from the hi-jack.
Turn 7♦ and Stefansky shoves his remaining stack! Opponent tanked a bit but made the call and showed Q♠ Q♥
Unfortunately, the High Roller champ had an even better overpair with K♣ K♠ as Stefansky doubled up to over 40,000 in chips– among the chip leaders very, very early in Day 1A.
A middle position player bet 225 and saw Francis Villamar from the cut-off call as well as the player from the big blind.
All players checked the flop Q♦ 7♦ 6♠ and turn 4♦ but Villamar led out on the river J♠ with a pot-sized bet of 650.
BB got out of the way but the MP player made the call.
Villamar apparently hit his set on the river with J♦ J♣ which was enough to beat his opponent’s A♠ Q♥ and take down the nice little pot.
After the turn with a board of 6♣ A♥ 10♠ 9♦, Martin Corpuz fired 1,500 in an already healthy pot.
The villain across him folded and he took down pot worth around 3,000 in chips.
Not a bad gain very early in Day 1A for Mr. Corpuz, who has a number of ITM in multiple APT events over the years.
With the board already showing 2♥ 10♦ Q♥ 8♠ 6♠, John Graham put all of his stack in the middle still worth around the starting stack.
An opponent made the call and Graham showed 8♣ 8♥ for the set of eights… The opponent grimaced and became the first casualty of the Day 1A of the main event.
We have 117 players so far in Day 1A and that number is expected to rise in the next few minutes.
A few notable players have joined so far and all eyes will be on them if they can survive the Day 1A battles.
