Preflop all-in with 8♦ 6♦, Haresh Kukreja was ready to go home when Craig Sloan made the call with A♠ 8♣
The flop 10♣ 4♣ 9♦ did give Kukreja new outs. Turn Q♥ didn’t give it but the river 6♠ did which means that Kukreja is alive in this main event.
Haresh has now over 700,000 while dropping Sloan to 150,000– just 3 big blinds now.
Czardy Rivera opened the action preflop with a 100K-bet and had two callers in Victorino Torres and Lester Edoc– #2 and #1 in chips thus far.
The flop 10♠ J♠ 8♥ was checked by both players and Torres led out with 120,000 on the turn K♣. Edoc folded his hand but Rivera made the call.
On the river 10♥, Torres added 120,000 and again, Rivera called…
Torres tabled K♦ K♥ for two pairs and Rivera mucked his hand.
Before the short 15-minute ceasefire, Craig Sloan doubled up off Haresh Kukreja….
Both with the shortest stacks at this point, Sloan climbed to 550K while Kukreja dropped to 300,000
Victorino Torres opened to 100,000 preflop but saw Jerry Lai move all-in for his final 600,000!
Torres tank-called and we have a showdown.
Flop was A♠ 9♠ 6♦ looking good for Lai but not the turn 8♣ as it gave Torres his set. River was no cowboy and Lai is out in 7th place of the main event!
Lai was the chip leader after Day 1B and after Day 3. Unfortunately, he was a little to aggressive to start the final table and unlucky on that final hand.
Not bad a week for the Malaysian though. With his 7th place finish– or PHP 573,000. AND a Charity Event win last Wednesday, he’s going home feeling very, very good.
Lester Edoc opened to 90,000 preflop and Victorino Torres called.
Both checked the flop 2♦ 6♠ 9♠ and Torres bet 100,000 on the turn 3♣, which was called by Edoc.
River K♣ arrived, Torres checked and it was Edoc who led out on the final round of betting with 250,000. Torres called and was shown the bad news after Edoc tabled A♥ K♥
Torres mucked his hand and dropped to around 1.3M in chips after this.
Edoc? He’s building the biggest stack with over 2.7M.
From UTG, Edoc opened to 70,000 and saw Craig Sloan from the big blind re-pop to 175,000.
Edoc called to bring in the flop K♣ K♥ 6♠. Sloan bet first to 130,000 and Edoc called.
On the turn 10♦, Sloan slowed down and Edoc led out this time to 150,000.
Sloan drops to around 400,000 at this point.
Jerry Lai opened preflop to 95,000 and found a caller in Lester Edoc and Victorino Torres.
Flop: J♦ 5♠ 9♠
Edoc opened this round to 120,000 but Lai raised to 460,000 forcing the fold from Torres. With action back to Edoc, the Filipino moved all-in for his final 935,000! Lai called.
Lai: 10♠ 7♠
Edoc: 8♠ 6♠
Lai is ahead at this point but needed to dodge a few cards to oust Edoc.
Turn 9♣ was safe but the river 6♥ gave Edoc his pair and he takes down the big pot! More importantly, he survives and has now over 2.2M in chips– the current chip leader.
This is the second time we’ve seen Czardy Rivera out play Victorino Torres although the latter still have the bigger stack (and actually the chip lead).
Rivera check-called Torres’s bet of 65,000 on the flop 5♥ 10♥ 7♥ and both checked the turn Q♠.
On the river 8♦ Torres returned to being the aggressor with a 140,000 bet but again, RIvera wouldn’t go away…
Torres mucked his hand and Rivera gains the big pot.
