APT Asian Series Manila 2013 Main Event

Sim is FT Bubble (9th – PHP 364,000)

Level: 26 Blinds: 15000-30000 Ante: 5000

And just like that we’re done here at the Genting Club in Resorts World Manila.

Sebastian Sim shoved with his cowboys and was feeling good about doubling-up when he saw his opponent, Franklin Acfalle Jr. call him with pocket jacks.

The dealer boarded the flop 10 10 4 and Sim was still ahead. However, the turn J arrived prompting cheers (silent or otherwise) from the other seven players in the table.

The river 6 came and our 8-Handed Final Table is set marking the end of Day 3 of the APT Asian Series Manila 2013 Main Event.

Sim won’t reach the final table but he still goes home with PHP 364,000– not bad a run in this main event!

The APT Live Reporting Team signing off for now. See you tomorrow, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.!

FT Bubble Time and Dinner Break

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

9 players are left in the main event. Only 1 left before we call it a day and set the 8-handed Final Table.

We’ll be back in about an hour!

And The Room Grows Silent… Narang Out (10th – PHP 305,000)

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 40000

Victor Torres opened preflop to 60,000 and saw Lester Edoc call. Jerry Lai made a re-raise to 260K and then Mandeep Narang shoved his stack worth 148K WITHOUT LOOKING AT HIS HANDS.

Torres and Edoc both flatted when the action returned to them.

Flop: 5 10 6

Torres and Edoc checked their options but Lai added 100,000 to the middle. Torres responded with a re-raise to 250,000… forcing both Edoc and Lai out of the hand.

Narang’s 10 6 was apparently drawing dead already against Torres’ 10 10 and the most outspoken and loud player in the main event gets eliminated.

Narang finishes at a booming 10th place for a booming PHP 305,000.

Alexandrov Gets Boot (11th – PHP 278,000)

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Nick Alexandrov has just left the main event.

His pocket nines came up short against Victorino Torres who had pocket tens on a board of 2 4 3 4 8.

Alexandrov exits in 11th place with a PHP 278,000 payout while Torres has well over a million in chips now.

Narang’s Big Slick Fails Him

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Preflop all in from Mr. Mandeep Narang once again, this time against Craig Sloan.

Narang: A K
Sloan: 6 6

Even with his loud and booming voice all across Genting Club and beyond, the board Q 8 10 3 8 couldn’t deliver him the goods and his stack gets cut down to roughly 200,000.

Sloan is back to the middle of the pack with over 700,000.

Conner Out (12th – PHP 278,000)

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

We did not get the hand but Trenton Conner of the United States of America is out in 12th place for PHP 278,000.

What we get from this is that Mr. Conner played very well in Day 3 considering he started the day with just 43,000 in chips (ranked 42nd out of 45 runners) and still four places away from a Final Table appearance. Wow!

Acfalle Jr. Doubles Off Sloan

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Preflop we saw Frank Acfalle’s K J against Craig Sloan’s A Q– the latter easily covering the former’s stack.

Flop Q 7 8 gave Sloan the top pair and the turn 6 put Acfalle on life support. And then, the river K arrived saving Acfalle Junior from being eliminated!

The chip counts are reversed between the two: Sloan drops to 380,000 and Acfalle Jr climbs to over 700K.

Lai Laying Down the Hammer!

Level: 25 Blinds: 12000-24000 Ante: 4000

Jerry Lai opened to 52,000 preflop and Czardy Earl Rivera called him to bring the flop J 2 7.

Rivera checked his option and Lai led out again, this time with 68,000. Rivera made the call to bring the turn K.

Both players checked this time and the dealer tabled the river 4.

Rivera checked again but Lai wanted more throwing some chips to the middle worth 88,000…

Rivera called and was shown the bad news: Lai had K Q for the top pair as Rivera mucked his hand.

Lai climbs to over 2.4M while dropping Rivera to 480,000.
