Czardy Rivera and Tan Gay Peng both checked the flop J♣ K♠ 2♠ and saw Simba from Korea bet 9,000. Rivera flatted but Peng made it 20,000.
Simba’s reply was a shove, Rivera got out of the way and we have showdown between the Korean and Singaporean.
Peng: K♥ J♥
Simba: K♦ Q♥
Peng’s two pair held as the turn 8♥ and river 8♦ was of no help to Simba, who exits Day 2.
Peng is rising and has now over 200,000.
Bryan Huang bet 2,600 on a flop of K♠ K♦ 5♣ and got a call from the player on the big blind to bring the turn A♠.
Bryan bet big this time to 12,500– forcing the BB player to throw away his hand.
Huang wins and has now around 70,000.
Matt Holley started the Day 2 with just 17,700. Don’t look now but the American has now over 150,000 in chips.
In his most recent hand, he busted out a short-stacked player after a preflop showdown:
Short Stacked Player: 5♥ 6♥
Holley: 10♠ 10♥
Flop: 9♠ Q♠ 9♦
Turn: 3♥
River: K♥
Lester Edoc opened from the button to 4,500 but saw the small blind re-raise to 12,600. Edoc tanked and moved all-in. The SB player called.
SB Player: 4♦ 4♥
Edoc: 5♠ 5♥
Dealer boarded 10♣ K♣ 7♣ 6♣ 6♠ and another one bites the dust.
Edoc continues his good showing and has now over 270,000 in chips– definitely among the leaders if not the chip leader at this point.
Preflop four-bet from Edwin Marzan led to him putting all of his chips against Julian Hasse, who had 10♥ 10♣.
The flop Q♣ K♠ 4♥ was what Marzan was looking for and the turn 7♦ retained his lead. However, the river 10♠ gave Hasse his set and Marzan is booted out from the main event.
The German has now over 180,000 in chips.
After a series of raises and re-raises, Jun Saito four-bet Mike Takayama preflop forcing the latter to throw away his hand.
Takayama showed the big slick and Saito was nice enough to tell him he made the good decision by tabling the pocket aces.
It’s not often that we see a 4♣ 7♣ vs. 2♠ 7♠ showdown but it just happened in hand involving the outspoken Mandeep Narang and Julianne Hasse.
Hasse held four-seven and raised preflop with Narang calling with just two-seven.
A board of 7♦ 7♥ 9♠ Q♠ 4♦ set-up sure fireworks and that’s exactly what happened with the pot reaching over 60,000!
End of story, Narang’s 2-7 got beat by Hasse’s 4-7… Narang drops to around 90,000 while Hasse has now over 145,000.
