Ward’s bullying ways before bubble time has paid off in this hand.
On a raised flop 6♦ 7♠ J♣, Ken Garcia bet 17,000 but saw Ward re-pop to 46,000. Garcia meant business, perhaps had had enough of Ward’s bullying in previous hands, shoved all of his stack totaling to about 200,000. Ward called showing a legit 7♣ 7♦ and was up against Garcia’s A♣ K♣!
Turn Q♦ gave Garcia a straight draw but no ten came on the river Q♥. Garcia is out and Ward climbs to 960,000– about quadruple the average chip average!
Jun Javalera opened to 12,000 preflop and saw Minsoo Kim risk all of his chips (37,000). Next to act, Luke Pangan took a bit of time before making the call (perhaps fearful of what the big-stacked Javalera will do next). Javalera folded.

Minsoo needs a major miracle in this one and he won’t get it on the flop Q♣ 2♦ 8♣, turn 4♦ and river K♥. The Korean busts out in 37th place of the main event and becomes our unfortunate bubble boy.

Thomas Ward, is taking full advantage of the bubble time as he won four consecutive hands by being aggressive. The Kiwi pro has now around 600,000.
Minsoo Kim with 3♣ 3♦ has just avoided being the bubble boy in this main event hitting his set right on the flop 3♠ 6♣ K♦. Three other players, Luke Pangan, Marc Rivera and Weiyi Zhang, were in the pot and Kim’s set held on the turn 7♥ and river 4♦. Minsoo quadruples to about 50,000.

Weiyi Zhang opened to 11,500 preflop and got re-raised by Kim Minsoo for 34,500. John Tech thought both were too small and three-bet to 75,500.
Action went back to Zhang, who folded and Minsoo, who tanked but also threw away his hand showing the big slick.
On a raised pot (about 65,000) on the flop 3♠ 10♥ 9♠, Jun Javalera shoved his final 116,000. Weiyi Zhang tank-called.
