Last side event results: Joshua Chargualaf bags the Monster; Steve Yea, Lei Yu, and & Ray Chiu win trophies

The last of the trophies have been claimed at APT Philippines II 2019. Payouts were some of the largest seen, especially at the Monster Stack 2 event where the guarantee doubled to PHP 4 million. All the latest results found below:  

Event #17: High Rollers #3 – Joonhee “Steve” Yea – PHP 948,900 (~USD 18,000)

The two-day High Rollers #3 event only saw 20 players pony up the PHP 107,500 (~USD 2,000) buy-in for a prize pool of PHP 1,940,000 (~USD 37,000). Among the entrants were Joonhee “Steve” Yea and Jinho Hong, both players jumping in immediately after busting out at the Championships Event where Yea finished 18th and Hong 12th. Impressively, both players faced off for the title at this event with Yea pulling off the victory.

Event #18: Monster Stack 2 – Joshua Chargualaf – PHP 1,022,000 (~USD 19,500)

The last event boasting of a guarantee was the Monster Stack 2 – PHP 2M guaranteed. It attracted a big field of 190 entries at PHP 27,500 (~USD 530) each for a juicy prize pool of PHP 4,607,500 (~USD 88,400). Payouts began at 32nd place. At the end of its two-day run, two players from Guam faced off for the title, Joshua Chargualaf and Rico Meno. Chargualaf closed it out to pocket the PHp 1,022,000 first prize and his third-ever career APT trophy.

Event #20: High Rollers Single Day 3 – Lei Yu – PHP 1,093,400 (~USD 21,000)

41 runners heated up the action at the last High Rollers event. At PHP 86,000 each, the prize pool came to a healthy PHP 3,181,600 (~USD 61,000). Seven players got paid with China’s Lei Yu banking the largest of PHP 1,093,400 after defeating Sweden’s Roger Spets at heads up. This was Yu’s first APT title and largest live win.

Closing the festival was the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo event with 111 pulling up seats at PHP 5,500 each. The prize pool came to PHP 538,300 (~USD 10,000) with 19 players earning a piece. Relieved at having finally shipped an event was Hong Kong’s Yik Yin “Ray” Chiu. Prior to this victory, Chiu cashed in 5 events, three of them final table appearances. Chiu pocketed PHP 135,300 for his win.
