NLH Single Day Event #1 (Shot Clock)

The NLH Single Day Event #1 was the lone side event on the floor running alongside Day 1B of the Main Event. It drew 106 entries at P16,500 each for a prize pool of P1,542,300 (~USD 29,600). Of that pot, 18 players got paid. Japan’s Junya Kubo claimed the largest cut of P393,400 for his victory.

The final showdown was between Kubo and Korea’s Kim Jungnam. Kubo held the lead entering heads up; Jungnam stole it once but that was the highest the Korean would go. The more aggressive Kubo applied constant pressure until the lead switched back his way and from there he held it to the end. The final hand saw a board Q 6 J A 5 with Kubo holding a winning K J over Jungnam’s 5 4
