Good morning players and welcome to Day 2 of the Main Event! Let’s jump right into the facts and the numbers. The two starting days produced a smashing total of 329 entries – 114 in Day 1A and 215 in Day 1B – breaking the APT’s previous Macau Main Event record of 326 runners set back in 2009.
Another number that was surpassed was the 2M advertised guarantee. Players are now looking at an even richer pot well over HKD 3 Million. This will likely increase with late registration still open until the start of Level 10. We will have the official numbers for you in our Live Updates thread as soon as they are in.
The APT Macau Championships 2018 kicked off the Main Event on Saturday, April 28 at Macau Billionaire Poker in Babylon Casino. After the two starting days completed, a total of 182 players advanced to today’s Day 2 round. They will play another 8 levels of 60 minutes each. Action resumes at Level 9 blinds 300-600 ante 75. Average stack is 45,192 with 8,225,000 total chips in play.
For players on the rail, you can still sign up. Registration closes at the start of Level 10 which gives you one hour before the freeze out stage. Late entries will receive a 25,000 starting stack. Buy-in is HKD 11,000.
Entering today’s round as the chip leader is China’s Zhang Cheng Xu who topped Day 1B with 157,150. Running second is another player from China, well-known pro Dong Guo with 145,850. Guo reigned at Day 1A and is one of a handful of decorated APT champions in the field. The other champions are Choong Kian Weng, Hisashi Ogi, and Iori Yogo.

TODAY’S EVENTS
For everyone missing out on the Main Event, we have a few events lined up for you:
14:00: Event 8 – No Limit Hold’em
The No Limit Hold’em 1 event begins at 2pm. Alike most of our NLH events, this one starts you off with a deep 10,000 stack with blinds opening at 25-50. Blinds increase every 30 minutes. This is designed to run for two days.
17:00: High Rollers Mega Satellite
A few hours later, players have a chance at entering the High Rollers event for just a tenth of the price. At 5pm is the High Rollers Mega Satellite. Buy-in is HKD 4,600. One seat will be awarded per ten players. The High Rollers event is a great event to join with the prize pool usually very large and the field very tight.
18:00: Champions Mega Satellite
Another satellite follows the one above with the second Championships Event Mega Satellite running at 6pm. For just a HKD 2,400 buy-in, players can win a seat worth HKD 22,000. The Championships Event is the second featured event of the series. Eventual champion will take home an exclusive APT Championship Ring awarded only to Main Event and Championships Event victors.
