Poker is kickin’ at the Land of Smiles! Good morning to all you poker enthusiasts! Today is your last chance to get into the Main Event action of the Asian Poker Tour Cambodia 2016 held at Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Buy-in is at $1,100 with unlimited re-entries until the end of round six. Game time begins promptly at 1pm.
If you haven’t already heard, the APT introduced a couple of fantastic new incentives to the Main Event at the beginning of the year. For starters, the Main Event winner will receive an additional prize, the solid silver-banded APT Championship Ring. Five of these coveted rings have already been awarded and the sixth one is now at arm’s length searching for its rightful owner. With the APT continuing to expand its well-known brand, holding annual events in beautiful destinations such as Sihanoukville, Cambodia, this will be the first APT championship ring awarded in the country, something to certainly brag about for years to come.
Another perk added to the Main Event is the Main Event Bubble Protection. This incentive is definitely something to have just in case you find yourself as the unfortunate bubble player. The past APT 2016 festivals has seen several players find comfort in having availed of this incentive because not only is it free but it also awarded them a consolation prize for just missing the mark into the money. How this works is, if you avail of the Main Event Bubble Protection and then happen to finish as the unfortunate bubble player, then you are entitled to one FREE ENTRY SEAT to the next APT Main Event of the same value. To qualify for the Bubble Protection, all you need to do is complete these three simple requirements:
- Pre-register to the Main Event
- Draw for your seat before starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1
For re-entry players, if you have already met the qualifications for Bubble Protection, you will maintain that status. If you are re-entering from having busted out at Day 1a, then you must repeat the steps above to qualify for the protection.
In addition, Main Event players who have survived day 1a will be allowed to participate in day 1b, and if it so happens that a player qualifies into day 2 with multiple stacks, then he/she must play the largest stack. The smaller stack will be taken out of play. Players attempting for multiple stacks must also complete the steps above to avail of the Main Event Bubble Protection.
Today’s Side Events
There will be two side events taking place today, the Pot Limit Omaha Hi at 2pm with a buy-in of $220 and the Deep Stack Turbo 1 event at 6pm with a buy-in of $110. For more information on these events and other APT Cambodia inquiries, just head to the website.
Venue Information
We also have information on the venue, Queenco Hotel & Casino, located on Victory Beach in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The hotel is now fully renovated with a brand new and fully stocked fitness center and spa. If being in the water is what you prefer, there is a swimming pool overlooking the smooth flowing waves of the Gulf of Thailand. Discounted rooms are available for APT guests. The hotel also offers round trip transportation for APT guests from the Phnom Penh International Airport to the venue.
