With APT Philippines 2010 just days away, anticipation is building up as players from Asia and around the world prepare for the big event.
Held from August 23 to 29, the week-long poker festivities will showcase a new venue in Resorts World Manila, a new tournament director in Lloyd Fontillas, and plenty of changes in the event structures to benefit the players.
“We made some changes this year to benefit the players,” said the Asian Poker Tour’s CEO Mr. Jeff Mann. “Playing days will be shorter this time, with an extra day added to the schedule. Starting stacks are now deeper, too, as players will be getting 15,000 in chips to start.”
The main event itself will start on Wednesday, August 25 and will feature two starting days, a Day 2, a Day 3, and the final table on the last day of APT Philippines 2010. Buy-in is set at US $2,500 + US $200.
There will also be plenty of side events to keep players excited, such as Greed, the PKR Battle of Teams event, the FHM MSW Headhunters event, a shoot-out event, and a Pot-Limit Omaha event.
Due to popular demand, the APT also made a new addition to the schedule: the Ladies of Poker Event, which will showcase the top female players from Asia and around the world. The ladies event will take place on Thursday, August 26, at 3:00 pm. Buy-in is set at only US $90 + US $10.
Players looking to win their way in at Resorts World Manila can join the RWM Satellite Series Finale, which will take place this Saturday, August 21. The tournament is guaranteeing at least EIGHT APT Philippines 2010 main event seats worth US $2,700 and a Php 100,000 cash prize pool! Buy-in is set at Php 10,000 + Php 1,000, and Resorts World Manila regulars can exchange 11,000 member points to enter the Finale.
The poker room at Resorts World Manila will also be giving away seats through its Lucky Draw promotion. Players don’t have to do anything except play at the RWM poker room from August 16 to 19! For more information, visit the poker room.
