Laaksonen and Yogo First Two Champs at APT Asian Poker Series Cambodia 2015

The APT Asian Poker Series Cambodia 2015, currently running at the Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville, has its first two champions:

Opening Event Champion Lasse Laaksonen receives his trophy from Queenco Casino Director Zokir Ibragimov

Lasse Laaksonen from England outlasted the field of 40 players in the USD 110 NLH Rebuy and Add On Opening Event. For his efforts, he took home the USD 3,640 top prize and his first APT championship trophy.

While in the Ante up for Charity tournament, Japan’s Iori Yogo took the top spot and the 100 APT POY points to bring him closer to the current 2015 APT Player of the Year race leader Samad Razavi.

Sabina Brevova of House of Family receives the charity check from event champion Iori Yogo

A total of USD 1,000 raised from the charity event was donated to the House of Family – A Comprehensive Project for Children in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The House of Family was founded in Cambodia back in 2003 by the St. Elisabeth College of Health and Social Care in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The House of Family operates two orphanages – in the capital city, Phnom Penh and in the coastal city called Sihanoukville. The project also takes care of HIV positive children, mostly brothers or sisters, so as not to tear family ties. The project provides: housing, clothing, food, education, English lessons, free-time activities, and, most of all, 24 hours health care, HAART – antiretroviral therapy (stopping the virus reproduction), laboratory testing and health monitoring, prophylaxis and treatment of opportune infections.

Action continues on October 22nd with one of the APT’s most popular events – the Head Hunter bounty tournament at 1pm followed by Main Event Satellites.
