Japan’s Iori Yogo showed why he is currently on top of the 2016 APT Player of the Year standings. In yesterday’s Pot Limit Omaha Event, he outlasted a total field of 40 entries for the lion’s share of the XPF 2,000,000 prize pool plus 210 more APT POY Points. Four other players made it into the money, all of whom were from New Caledonia.

Iori has been on top of the 2016 APT Player of the Year standings for much of the year. Prior to APT Noumea 2016, he has won 7 titles along with 32 cashes for a total of 3,877 APT POY points. While trailing him is the reigning four-time consecutive APT Player of the Year Samad Razavi with 3,600.90 points.
